Great guy and pretty good teacher, but fairly unorganized. There were 6 homework assignments, but some took 20 hours to complete and lacked detail, contained mistakes, and were sometimes posted late. Exams were fair and only tested material that was covered in class. Project lacked guidance and was very open ended with unclear evaluation criteria.

Professor Linderoth is an interesting character. You can tell he has a lot of background in Optimization and has worked with some pretty big names in the field. He always had jokes and stories about particular models and it made me very interested in the class... but he sometimes gets sidetracked, so prepare to study a lot on your own time.

He's a decent professor, posts lecture videos and recordings and all that, but holy cow is he arrogant. Like he'll teach you everything you need to know decently, he's not a bad professor by any means, but I just could not get over his attitude, the way he called people out, making fun of people who don't come to class, etc.

Professor Linderoth is amazing. This class is extremely difficult, but gives you everything you need to learn. Homeworks are very long and challenging but thoroughly cover class content which makes studying for exams quite easy. He goes kinda fast through many concepts, but recordings and lecture slides are posted so it's easy to go back.

Linderoth is fantastic. He makes complicated lectures enjoyable and listens to student feedback on what we aren't understanding. He posts lecture recordings, notes, and slides for review, and lots of examples for the difficult homework assignments. Both him and TAs are helpful and care a lot for students. He is enthusiastic about what he teaches.

Professor Linderoth made the most difficult ISyE class enjoyable. He is an excellent professor who really wants his students to learn and is passionate about what he teaches. He actually memorizes everyone's name the first week of class. Attendance isn't mandatory technically, but I can't imagine doing well in this class without attending lecture.

One of, if not, the best professor in the department. Homework can be long but the problems are fun and he is willing to help. Exams are challenging but fair. Class is difficult but you get what you earn.

Linderoth is one of the most charismatic and intelligent professors in COE. If you're taking him for 323, expect a very difficult course. The material is dense and Linderoth likes to go in depth. Linderoth cares about his students and makes a point to get to know his students. A great professor, I wish they were all like him.

One of the smartest professors Ive had at UW, though this is a tough class. Homework takes a long time, and if you want to do well on exams, you need to understand how to do the homework problems by yourself. Attending lecture is a must as well, and they are actually entertaining. True and false questions are very difficult on the exams.

I really enjoyed having Professor Linderoth. The material was very difficult at times, but he overall explained topics clearly. Homework seemed to be given to help understand the material for exams, rather than for busy work.

Class was hard, but I learned some things. Linderoth tries to keep it light with jokes, but sometimes the materials gets a bit heavy. One of the best profs I've had.

Linderoth is awesome! His lectures are informative and he tries to keep it light with jokes and examples. Homework can be challenging, but it really helps prepare for exams. His multiple choice is the hardest part of exams. Office hours are helpful if you're ever stuck on anything. He really got me interested in operations research!

Awesome professor. Explains the topic very well, and tries to keep it light by telling jokes. Uses fun examples.

Great !

As you are reading this, I hope you rate your other professors to help future students. Great professor who makes funny jokes. Really nice and great at explanations during OH. Exams are easy for the most part. True/False Q's hardest but the material is not hard if you know concepts of matrices and logic. Good for people that like algebraic models.

Awesome professor! Great sense of humor and The lectures are so fun. Really got me interested into optimization. The homework is challenging but yet written in a fun way (be prepared for a lot of beer and Harry Potter problems). You guys should give him more ratings!

Linderoth is a terrific professor! He doesn't take himself too seriously, but he takes the class seriously - in a good way. Assignments are kind of confusing sometimes, but he is really helpful if you go to office hours. If you actually do the homework and understand it, you will have no trouble passing. His lectures are somewhat entertaining.
