Jeff Nyhoff's LIS440 was the easiest class I have ever taken. I finished with a 108% doing 0 extra credit. Jeff is nice, but my goodness. The best way I could describe his class is the movie Groundhog Day. You do the same assignments four or five times with a singular switch in variable names. Also, he takes attendance at the beginning and end...

Easy class, get ready to work during lectures and bring computer charge, can be boring but the most EASIEST CLASS EVER

Superrr easy class but the most boring class you will ever sit through. Almost fell asleep in every single one of his lectures. Also sent him multiple emails throughout the semester and he never responded to one.

easy class, easy credit

w class, take it

chill and passionate guy, easy class, just do your work while attending lectures!

Very straight forward and easy class, chill professor who is passionate about what he teaches, Most easiest A ever, just come in and do your work, and the assignments given for homework weekly which aren't too crazy. btw no quizzes! take it you wont regret it .

Jeff is a great dude.

LIS 461 was the easiest class I have ever taken and Jeff was a huge part of that with a phenomenal course design. If you are a data science major or certificate just take this class no matter what. Show up to class and just do the work, so easy. can be boring but that's the price you pay for an easy A. all other criticism here is unjustified.

take it, great guy, chill and easy class

easiest class and chillest professor

Class is boring, the easiest A I've had. All you have to do is show up to class and follow along, outside of class work is light. He talks a lot and can be rude if you ask him 1 on 1 questions. Take this if you need free science creds, don't expect it to be super engaging though.

cool guy, easy class

Good and easy class for quan b credit. Although, be ready to use and charge that computer to 100%. Lecture heavy as you have to be there everyday to do the assignments posted and to receive credit. Outside work is posted after lecture tuesdays, kinda long. NO Quizzes, easy pass, he may talk a lot but is overall a really chill professor + great guy.

He such chill guy, I honestly don't understand the hate lol. All you have to do is come to class and do your work by following what he instructs. Outside of class Tuesdays you will get work, but it always will relate to the topic you have done in class. He is also super understandable and yes he may be a yapper but overall the class is super easy.

Class is painfully boring and full of busy work. You will get an A if you show up and do the work, but it is mind numbing.

Prof. Nyhoff seems like a great guy. Unfortunately, his class makes me want to kms. Lectures are useless, he rambles a lot and acts like we're children. There is so much pointless busywork outside of class, and the canvas page is completely disorganized so it's hard to figure out what's going on

He's a bad lecturer but the class is super easy because you just need a 90% to get an A and get a bunch of grace points so that's a positive.

would constantly show up late to MANDATORY in-person 8 am, & didn't allow any makeups/exceptions for attendance (entire grade). When I suggested that he could post assignments before class so that we could start class on time (and not waste 20 minutes every class setting up), he blatantly disregarded me and basically called me rude. easy AF tho

He is not very organized at all. I took LIS 461 with him and if you have already taken any other python intro class this class will be very easy for you. I will say he is hard to reach sometimes by email and was constantly late to our lecture. He was a very nice guy though.

Very nice guy, horrible professor. Constantly cancelled lectures the day of. Fortunately, lectures were often worthless & provided no information. Always went far too in-depth with specific-case examples and consistently missed the forest for the trees. Poor question answerer. Held required "code-along" lectures, which are as bad as expected.

Sent on last day of class: "Remember that it's ALWAYS hard to be new, ANYWHERE you go. This is normal, so hang in there." "Remember that, the first time you try something challenging, it can feel like "falling down the steps" the first time around... This is normal, so hang in there." I don't know what to expect more from an intro course prof.

By far the worst teacher I have ever had. Constantly cancels lectures and when he does hold class he is the worst lecturer. He doesn't know what is going on in the class and often teaches us the wrong topics. Never teaches us the material we need to know for the lab assignments. Also, never responds to emails.

Disappointed this semester with Prof Nyhoff. Very inconsistent teacher, does not respond to emails, and lectures cover bare minimum of topics we have to know in depth. I had to self study topics which were covered in the other Professors lectures but not in ours. Take a different professor if you get the chance, definitely not worth it otherwise.
