Prof. Schueller is just SO sweet, empathetic, kind, and caring, and it's reflected throughout the course. She's flexible with deadlines, great at answering questions, and makes the class quite enjoyable. Not an abundance of homework but a few large projects/papers. Very doable. Go to class, participate, do the work, and you're golden.

Prof Schueller is excellent just like the other UW German professors. The final book is difficult and the test can be hard so be prepared for that. The homework assignments were also tedious (yet easily graded) and took way longer than they should have. Attendance is mandatory and is worth around 15% of your final grade.

Super caring and understanding prof! Assignments weren't difficult, but often took a lot of time and reading. Final wasn't hard as long as you paid attention in class and read the book. Excellent feedback and grading was fairly easy, but many of the assignments were due on Saturdays and the lectures could be boring.

Mid-semester assignment worth 9% of the grade was left ungraded for a month and a half. On the final day of semester, I was notified that I missed a portion, and my grade dropped from an A to a B. Never had any clue that I had missed a portion and was given no chance to submit the part for some level of credit. Also awful at responding to emails.

Professor Schueller is very kind, compassionate and willing to talk to anyone. The class is interesting, but can be brutal--quizzes are difficult and she can be extremely harsh when grading. The final book is dreadful and she doesn't exactly specify what you need to know, so basically memorize everything. The final is only on the last book.

I loved this class! Although it was very homework heavy, which many things before reading the books I found to be pure busy work, the class was engaging and fun! She really cares about each and every student and always surprised the class with treats!

Frau Schueller was great. The homeworks were split up nicely throughout the year and I learned way more than I was expecting to through the year, in addition to improving my German skills a lot. I'm looking forward to taking her film class in the future.

Dr. Schueller is a true gem. I have never met an educator who genuinely cares about every single one of her students and strives to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated as much as her. She is caring, compassionate, extremely knowledgeable, and open. She is one of the very rare people in the world who truly inspires you to be a better person.

I've never had a bad professor in the UW German dept, and Frau Schueller is no exception. She's honestly the nicest lady alive, and as long as you show you want to learn, she will do everything she can to help you. Homeworks are sometimes unnecessarily long, but they're often easy A's.

She's super nice and smart. She tries to make lectures interesting and is always really open with students. Jeanne likes to connect with her classes and genuinely make the German culture fun. Some of the stuff you read is pretty boring and the homework is unnecessarily long but she's a good grader if you try. Would recommend.

She knows how to teach. Repeats anything 200 times until you get it completely. Has a positive, kind personality. Makes jokes, brings the class donuts and candy. Didn't grade a question on our exam because so many kids messed it up. Genuinely caring, easy grader. Expect a 9/10 on all your homeworks no matter what you write, though they are long..

Jeanne is a great teacher. She chooses new and interesting material; you learn something new about German culture in every lecture. She remembers things about her students and connects with them on a personal level, and goes out of her way to help when someone doesn't understand something. She's very easy to talk to!

In general she is very friendly in class and is pretty helpful when asked questions. In class she does often try and spark discussion, but is often unsuccessful, leading to many an awkward silence (though I wonder if that was just my class). The homework assignments are ridiculously long at times, but the tests are easy if you pay attention.

Jeanne is one of the nicest instructors I've had so far. She's very friendly and always willing to help her students! If she can tell that the class doesn't understand something, she slows down and explains or reiterates the concept.

She's nice but assigns way too much for each homework assignment. Even if the homework were in English it would take a good 2 hours to do per assignment, even if it were somewhat interesting.

She is nice, but class is boring. She can seem really crabby and she kinda mumbles, which is hard when learning another language. But she's kind of an easy grader on hw. quizzes were difficult though

very nice
