Jake is a great guy with immense knowledge and passion for his craft. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in his class and would recommend him to anyone.

I really enjoyed Prof. VZ and his lectures. He made class loads of fun, along with Prof. Lyons, and you can tell he is passionate about his area of study. Highly recommend taking his class!

Probably one of the best professors that I have ever had at UW-Madison. He is so smart and really loves exactly what he is teaching. If you love animals, especially fish, this is definitely the class for you! He really loves when you engage with lectures, so if you are curious about something feel free to ask questions. A pretty awesome guy overall

Loved him. Made me really like fish ecology. Doesn't post his lecture slides so go to lecture.

Excellent professor, had him for limnology but he was even better for ecology of fishes. Kept lecture interesting and fair grading. Few easy papers and projects, and reasonable tests. Excellent zoology course.

Pretty good professor. He is very interested in the subject, however, if you don't like physics the first part of his class is rough. His exams are pretty difficult, mostly short answer with some mult choice. The short answers are difficult and almost impossible to get full credit. I worked my butt off studying and ended up with a B.

Prof. VZ is such a great teacher. Class is easy because he makes it easy. I came in with little knowledge of freshwater ecosystems. Left with an "A" and a love for limnology.

Go to class, use his handouts and take good notes. Study the notes, and you will be fine. His exams can be kind of tricky and weighted heavily towards multiple choice which can suck, but the class is not that much work. A day or two of reviewing your lecture notes before the exam and you should do alright.

He was pretty good, not one of those profs that stand out or make you hate the class. Go to lecture and pay attention and use his handouts to study and you should be fine, I only began to do this at the end and it helped greatly.

This guy is good. His lecturers are worth going to, and he presents the material well. The exams are harder than they should be, so look out for that.

Great lecturer. Very interesting and engaging. He always seems ready to work with students to make sure they understand the material or if they have special circumstances during the semester.

Not a bad lecturer, tests are pretty fair. Book is pretty much worthless. Definately take the lab. Field trip is a ton of fun! Lab is crazy writing intensive, but you get to cruz around on the Limnos!
