For this capstone, we got to go on a lot of field trips to various sites around Madison which was really cool. There was no work outside of class until 2 weeks before the end of the semester she wanted 16 of us to write one 25 page paper. She is very picky at what she wants in it but doesn't give out guidelines or any direction with how to do it.Rate My Professors ↗

The worst professor I have ever had at UW. Essays are pointless and graded with no basis. The midterm and final are impossible and you cannot do well on them. Horrible professor.Rate My Professors ↗

The only way to do well in this class is to have super-human note taking abilities; everything is covered in lecture exclusively. No other learning materials are given to you(The text book is useless), and the slides are not posted, so you can't really improve your grade by working harder. Avoid this professor.Rate My Professors ↗

Like everyone else, I took this class because I heard how awesome the professor and the class were. This is NOT the Botany 240 you heard about: different professor, completely different class. Grading arbitrary, no feedback provided, guidelines for tests and papers vague. Lectures SO boring, 3/4 of class stopped going by November. AVOIDRate My Professors ↗

Plants and Man is NOT an easy "A", or even easy at all. The 7 required one page essays are totally easy, just don't go over a page or you get automatically docked points. The one midterm is impossible, and your right answers will be wrong. Lecture is pointless, long, and boring but you have to go to get the notes. I do not recommend this class!
