Most of grade is based on huge research paper. Josh is a great guy and has a good sense of humor but his lectures can be a little dull. He assigns a lot of reading, but his lectures are straight from the textbook so you can do well without reading. Content is pretty easyRate My Professors ↗

There is a ridiculous amount of reading expected; however, he lectures on the exact material needed for the 2 exams. You will be expected to write a large research paper over the course of the semester. The TA is awesome and extremely helpful. Josh is a good guy and has interesting material if you actually listen to him.Rate My Professors ↗

Reading amount is absolutely insane like others have said and he has you buying two textbooks you never need to use. Waste of money. He is extremely monotone and everything in the class is common sense. Don't take this course if it's with Josh. He means well but not a good professor.Rate My Professors ↗
Quality 2/5Difficulty 4/5
The amount of material that you need to cover for the exam is insane (400+ pages for the midterm), and it's near impossible to do all of the readings. A lot of people don't even bother to go to lectures because he just reads the slides. Josh is a really great guy, but teaching may not be his strongest suit. The TA is awesome though.Rate My Professors ↗

Professor McAuliffe means well but he hasn't found his "groove" for teaching yet. He is SUPER monotone, goes through the slides WAY too fast, and requires readings that are nearly impossible to do along with other course work. To top that off, there's only two exams and a research paper for your grade. He seems like a good guy, but not for teaching
