Awful. John manufactures a fake guru status about himself that is significantly harmful to his students. Total joke of an artist, musician and trumpet player. There is a reason no one outside of his little bubble has ever heard of him. I personally witness him get lost during a concert, and stop the whole thing, TWICE!!Rate My Professors ↗
Its a good thing John finally retired. As a classical trumpet player and teacher he is very good. But he is totally unaware of trumpet music outside of the classical genre, and refuses to acknowledge it in his teaching. As professor of trumpet, he should have a much wider knowledge of the WHOLE spectrum of playing.Rate My Professors ↗
John is a wonderful human being and a great teacher. He's the kind of professor that really cares about your success and does all he can to help you achieve your goals.
