Professor Martell I the best professor I have had at UW-Madison by FAR. He genuinely cares about making connections with his students while also prioritizing our success in his class. I HIGHLY recommend attending his lectures and making use of his office hours!Rate My Professors ↗

If you have the privilege of Dr. Martell teaching your semester, TAKE HIS CLASS. He makes complicated, advanced topics feel simple and understandable. Dr. Martel takes pauses during his lectures for students to ask questions, which deeply enriches the class and calls on students by name, even those in the back! He truly cares beyond the classroom.Rate My Professors ↗

I love his lectures! He makes ochem easier to understand and is completely enthusiastic about teaching. Importantly, he encourages questions and is so delighted when people ask questions that it creates such an engaging class.Rate My Professors ↗

Willing to help students! He tries to break down ochem into something easy. I know a lot of people recommend Esselman but I actually prefer Martell due to the slower pace he goes at during lecture (and you don't fall behind).Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Martell is one of the best professors I've had at UW-Madison! He explains mechanisms really well and there are very little misconceptions in his lectures. He always asked people's names, and often remembered them, when they asked a question, which shows how much he cares about his students. Highly recommend!!Rate My Professors ↗
