Professor rambles on about what seems to be nothing, but pay attention this is what she tests on. Her exams are not based on what you really need to know about the revolution, rather minor people and social events. Also exam ? are mostly from readings. very nice lady but sometimes could get off topic/jump around in lectures. one lecture devoted entirely to listening to rev war music. grading depends on your ta but discussion helps a lot in clarifying whats important. good notes come from lecture if you figure out whats important enough to write down. tests arent terrible if you studyRate My Professors ↗
attendance taken so go. classes generally boring so bring computer. she is a hard grader and expects good writing. she is very helpful if you go to her office hours. small papers due every week and a large term paper at the end.Rate My Professors ↗
Very knowledgeable on the American Revolution time period, although much of the material is focused on the politics before and after the war... I think only a couple lectures on the actual war. Interesting stuff and fairly easy class.Rate My Professors ↗
This class is inaccurately titled. She needs to either refocus the class or rename it "a social history of the 17th and 18th centuries". The professor focused way to much on social aspects and her own book, rather then on the stuff I was hoping for and what the title suggests.
