JEAN BAHR

I wish she was a more engaging lecturer. Every lecture and example she gave in class was taken directly from the textbook, making going to class useless, except that attendance counts for 10% of your grade. She seems like an interesting person, but she's not an interesting lecturer.

Jean is a very intelligent professor. This can often scare students because it seems like she is talking at a really high level. Go to her office hours or talk to her after class, she is great at explaining and will respect you for it. She wants everyone to do well.

Ridiculous. Nothing in the lectures pertain to test material. My TA, as a graduate student said he wouldn't want to take our tests. Discussion is easy but doesn't pertain to anything you do in lecture. This class destroyed my GPA.

Bahr's spastic lectures were really hard for me to sit through. This class is mostly about your memorization abilities. If you remember a single crystal structure shown on one slide out of hundredsm you'll do fine on the midterms. Not reccomended unless you absolutely love geology.

Environmental Geology was not a particularly fun class for me. Bahr's lectures were fairly clear, but during midterms I questioned whether I was in the right room. The tests do not correlate well with the important concepts (or even details) of the class, making it a challenge. Bahr is obviously enthused about geology, but it didn't spread.
