Jarrett is a great guy but the most boring professor I've had. It's an easy A, but you'll really hate the class by the end.

Great teacher and great guy! Cares about students learning. Class is filled with lots of information but, he presents it in a very favorable way for students. Would love to have him again and highly recommend the class!

Really engaging, funny, relevant, often moving lectures, weekly "research journals" responding to readings and class discussion. Really long take home exams but they're graded fairly easily.

Amazing and engaging lectures on Native American Literature and History. Overall amazing guy, great sense of humor, makes everything accessible while remaining very respectful of the sensitive history.

He speaks to you like your an adult in college, and I guess that's not for everybody, but I never had problems with him. He took a really detailed approach to helping us edit our work and the work of others. He also made English interesting by looking at the formation of arguments in unlikely places, like jokes.

To start off, there were a lot of people in the class that were not fans of Jarrett, but I thought he was great; a bit verbose but it really wasn't as bad as people made it. Graded pretty easily so long as you put a bit of effort into your work. As long as you learned how to form an argument and other things he was happy. He was also super helpful!
