About this rating

Raw average: 2.62/5 from 39 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

I took 2 classes from Professor Hutchison many years ago. Can't speak for the present, but in her heyday she was amazing. Very smart, witty, and encyclopedic in her knowledge of Netherlandish painting. Fabulous experience

Hutchinson rocks. She is really kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and an easy grader. She does, however, speak pretty softly. We basically each adopted a museum, wrote a paper on it, and presented it at the end of the semester. In the classes where no one presented, she talked about other museums. I definitely recommend J-Hutch!

Quality 3/5Difficulty 2/5
I had her for 202 before 330. She really knows her stuff, and actually wrote a text just for this class. It will be boaring if you are not interested in the subject matter, but the grade comes down to three easy tests.

Woman clearly knows her stuff, but is boring, unclear, and speaks in a whisper. Maybe if she used a microphone this class would be better, but she's just plain unorganized. Easy A though.

Quality 1/5Difficulty 1/5
Pointless. She mumbles into the mic which only works half the time. Only phrase heard in first lecture was "DEPTHS OF H*LL!" I stopped going to class a month in and still managed to get 100 on the midterm. Easy tests, useless class.

Quality 4/5Difficulty 1/5
EASY class. Only three tests, and all you have to do is memorize works of art, some vocab, and write an essay basically comparing mediums. Her lectures are really useless unless you enjoy random useless facts about the art work in question. Attendance isn't mandatory-and frankly neither is the book. Great class.
