Extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the subject and very friendly during office hours. Provides a great overview of the entire continent from many different perspectives in only a semester. Many interesting guest lectures. Heavy reading load, but exams and 5 page paper are manageable if you do the work.Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Delehanty is the professor you want. He's really smart, totally unbiased, passionate, extremely helpful, very nice, clear about what he is teaching and what he wants, and actually has interesting lectures. For example, he had Koo Nimo in class for a live performance and Q & A, how awesome is that? I had him for honors and have enjoyed it.
Lecture was usually interesting, essay midterm and exams that you get before hand to prepare. Only homework is a five page paper that is extremely easy. I highly recommend Jim, he's a very interesting guy. Stop in for office hours, he'll talk about anything! He tried to convince me NOT to go to Africa!Rate My Professors ↗
Lectures are long, but easy to understand. He has you read lots of books but they are interesting. The class topics are really interesting! I recommend the class, it's cross listed with just about every topic so it's a great class to fill in the holes in credits.
