Baughman is an incredible lecturer. Makes dull topics come to life, and he is extremely energetic and hilarious. He is an old school prof and can hold attention. The reading for the class is insane, do it or you will struggle. Sometimes there would be a comment thrown that was borderline offensive but he's an older gent so keep that in mind.Rate My Professors ↗
Hands down favorite professor in the Journalism school. Baughman makes up for his odd comments throughout lectures with fantastic help on your writing, and for a class on creative non-fiction, he gives both great and horrible examples for class-wide critique. I absolutely loved Prof Baugh as a professor. He was a great lecturer and always got people laughing. He clearly knows his stuff and communicates to the class in a clear and concise way. The class is pretty old-school - no laptops, he doesn't use a powerpoint or anything, just lectures from a podium. Not as difficult as I thought it would be.Rate My Professors ↗
Very interesting and funny guy. Great lecturer. Class did not cover as much material as I thought it would, we never got to Watergate. As a history major the class was not as challenging as I thought it would be. Felt watered down compared to other upper level history classes. Professor Baughman is the best. He's not only hilarious, but he really knows his stuff (he's a graduate of Harvard and Columbia).
