confusing and boring lecture

I thought Jack did a good job, considering the difficulty of the material. midterm is challenging but fair if you study from the problem sets. The final was extremely hard. Having a good TA is crucial, especially for the 2nd half. Know going in that there are only 3 grades: problem sets 25% (8 of them, drops worst), midterm 30% & final 45%.

Professor Porter can be confusing at times. Some of his lectures seem very repetitive while some are hard to follow along. He is interested in the pure math behind statistics so it can be tough to stay interested if that isn't your goal.

Pray that you have a good ta or be an amazing independent student. He is the worst professor I have had on campus. His tests mention things he spent less than 3 minutes on per lecture. 45% of your grade is the final. He should not being teaching a required course.
