This class was a 1-credit seminar taught in Spring 2012 (and other semesters) for the Greenhouse Learning Community (then in Cole Hall). The course I took was "From Seed to Ground." Jack passionately shared with us the importance of connecting with the natural world and growing food, how to order seeds based on what we like to eat, and how to do it

He did a fine job for one of his last classes here at UW. Have taken courses with him before and he has been a character full of energy and excitement. Fair grader, honest about opinions and wants students to think for themselves. I'm glad to have taken this course and learned more from him.

Jack is very passionate about what he does and is a wonderful guy. He really wants his students to succeed and as long as you're willing to put in the effort you'll get a good grade. Very interesting class, I'm so glad I took this class.

Wonderfully interesting, intensely passionate, and very driven. I highly recommend Jack for any class you can possibly get with him, very approachable. You have to attend almost all of his discussions and write thoughtful papers but he is a kind grader. God help your soul if you fall asleep in his class.
