Seize the opportunity to learn litho from one of the great practitioners/recipient of UWs Lifetime achievement award. An engaged student bright enough to forgive his axe-grinding will find real substance in what Jack offers, and a whole lot of heart. Works individually, hands-on with those who come in after hours. Everyone has an opinion about Jack. He is a difficult teacher which causes many to assume that the problem is with him. Ultimately, he was the only professor that NEVER lied to me. He was honest and I am a better artist because of him. I can say, he was best teacher I've had! Take his course to get better, not to get pats on the back. Recommended!Rate My Professors ↗

Jack is very charming at first, don't get me wrong, but pretty soon it becomes apparent that he's charming because he likes being Printmaking God to a handful of students while not really caring about teaching at all. Jack is a very interesting person in a group, but very difficult to talk to one on one. Also the way he contradicts himself all the time gets really irritating. Lithography is a cool discipline, but if you don't like gray areas and inexplicable assignments then avoid this class.Rate My Professors ↗
He doesn't give any grades until the end. He treats male students better. If you ask him a question, regardless of whether you have any reason to know the answer or not, he will mock you in front of the whole class. He draws on people's projects without asking. He might have been a good teacher once, but he isn't anymore. Tenure is great, isn't it?
