Great guy, knows how to teach the material in a (somewhat) interesting way. Only complaint was he said in announcements we get 2 hours to complete the final exam but we only got 90 minutes.

I really liked Hessam! Clear expectations for the class, fairly engaging lectures, and he had a lot of passion for the content. Lecture isn't required, but I would highly recommend attending. He's great at answering questions and really cares for his students!

Need to attend lecture to understand what's going on, lecture slides alone do not offer much information. Go to office hours for help on the excel cases. Make sure to start the writeup early since it takes a while. Professor Bavafa was very nice and funny during lectures.

Nice guy who cares about his students. Definitely the best professor who teaches the class, and he was probably the best at explaining the course material. Class is very easy (2 exams, 2 case reports, and 10 quizzes). That being said, he was not particularly responsive to emails, especially during the exam period.

Bad professor, don't reply to emails, worse at explaining stuff. Avoid at all cost.

Very funny professor, he's always talking about random pop culture things so it's funny hearing Thank U Next play over the speakers while he's talking about regression analysis lol. But he also teaches the material pretty well and is helpful if you ask him questions after class/in office hours. Overall a solid professor

I had the pleasure of taking Professor Bavafa's class last semester, and I must say it was a delightful experience! Not only does he possess an incredible wealth of knowledge on a wide range of topics, but his teaching style is so clear and concise that even the most complex concepts became easy to understand.

The class is basically a review of AP Stats from high school, but Hessam was definitely the best of the three professors this semester. Made an effort to make the class interesting/funny. The exams were easy, while the cases required some time (especially the report). Discussions were a waste of time (but not mandatory).

Professor Bavafa does a great job making his lectures interesting and engaging. There's no textbook to read for this class, but that also means everything you learn is from the in class lectures.

Bavafa might have been a different lecturer back in 2017, but do NOT let those reviews deter you today. He's engaging, fun, and explains the content in a way that anybody can understand. His lectures teach you the content you need to know without overcomplicating anything. Out of all three of the GB306 professors, Bavafa was the most engaging.

He taught the last module, and I thought he was really smart and made polished videos. I wish I got to know him better but he was helpful in office hours and helped me with interview advice too, and this course is probably the only helpful one for that. Highly recommend him and will try to take a class with him again.

I was worried about a virtual class but I loved how he made many short videos including showing Excel. He was clearly excited about the topic and personalized the course, so I felt like I got to know him. He seems on the younger side so was super fast with email and technologically proficient (eg screen sharing) which was awesome.

3rd professor in the last part of the class. Not a bad instructor, but I felt he doesn't care about students. I emailed him once, and he took 5 days to respond. Another time I emailed him a question about content, and my TA responded, indicating he just forwarded it and wouldn't respond himself. Easy class though if you took AP Stats in highschool.

Pretty poor professor. Definitely can tell that he is there for research and research only. Rarely - if ever - available to answer student questions. Often times, he just told us to go see the TA when he was in his office. Did the bare minimum for lecture. Had a hard time fostering student engagement and care for student progress.

Hessam is a nice guy. His teaching style is clear and thorough. Out of the three modules, I'd say he was the most fair.

Ok professor. You learn a lot from the case during his Module, but really mediocre. Definitely the most boring and least caring of the three 306 professors

Hessam is last of three professors to teach this class. He is funny and makes you interested in what he is teaching. Lectures at a good pace, provides interesting examples. There is now a final exam, which was difficult and long. The case report is not difficult, but don't procrastinate on it. Put in effort for cases!

Hessam teaches the 3rd module for this course and it's honestly not that bad. The Case Study is fairly simple (just don't push it off) and the exam is less stressful than Module 2s. Overall, kinda funny guy and you can tell he has a passion for analytics. He makes the lectures go by quick and tries to make sure we really learn what he's teaching

I had Hessam for the third module of GB306. He was really a funny guy who cared a lot about the material. I wish he would have been able to teach more about the simulation section, as it seemed extremely interesting. The PhillyCycle case in his module was pretty tough, but he is very helpful and is overall an enjoyable professor to have.

This class is graded way harder than it needs to be. It's two group projects and a midterm. Then, after the last group project, they give you an online final that's worth 1% of your grade on the last day of finals. So unnecessary.

He takes days to respond to emails. He knows every students name and is a pretty good lecturer. He is nice when you ask him questions but you can tell he doesn't care about your grade.

Analytics 1 is really simple. Two tests and two group projects. One of each is Anita's and the other one is Hessam's. This half of the semester is slightly harder. Try hard and you should get an A. He gives you the last two exams from the past semesters which makes studying really easy. If you need help, ask for it.
