While Prof Kirkorian never delivers any lectures, this class is well organized and easy to follow. Lots of little assignments, but never too timely of tasks. As easy as an online class gets as long as you put in the work necessary.
Human development isn't really my "thing," but I did learn a good deal from this class. I was bored throughout most of the readings, but the class was still a solid SoHE elective. I might have found the topics more interesting if the class had been in person. Overall, the class was an easy A and about as demanding as you'd expect for SoHE.
Take HDFS 362 with her! She is amazing.
Her lectures are to the point and very interesting. Weekly you will have one activity, one discussion post, one discussion response, and a quiz, lowest grade in each will be dropped each week. Just listen to the lectures and take notes on her provided sheets, fill rest in with textbook and you'll be golden
Amazing professor and very fair class. Several extra credit opportunities.
Her lectures are really easy to follow and the "quizzes" are right from the lecture and a little from the book. She organized the class very well and she was always available for questions and explanations. Discussions are interesting and worthwhile.
I've been in Prof. Kirkorian's online HDFS class for about two weeks and it's already pretty great. It's extremely simple (one quiz and discussion post w/2 responses per week; all open note/book) and requires very little time (2-3 hours max/week). Prof. Kirkorian gives great lectures and makes quiz material relevant. TAKE THIS CLASS!
Super easy and interesting class. Quizzes and discussions posts/replies about every two weeks and every once in a while every week. Quizzes were 25 questions w/ 25 minutes so be on top of things. Discussion post w/ two discussion replies. Really fun, easy, and enjoyable class.
Easiest class ever. I could do all of the work for the week in one day. Entire grade was based off of a quiz every other week and a discussion post every other week.
Taking notes and following along with her lectures is easy. Her quiz questions are fair, and she is very helpful over email with questions. The hardest part about this class is adjusting to the online style. The quizzes are online but you have to somewhat know the material in order to pass.
Really easy course and an easy A if you keep up with the materials! You can basically do all the lectures in one day and take the quiz.
This class was super interesting and easy. The online version keeps a good pace for everything you need to know (3 modules per week, biweekly reflection assignments). Keep on top of the material/modules, study hard before the exam, skim the book/read the summaries at the end of each chapter and you should have no problem getting at least an AB.
SUPER easy and interesting class. Didn't even buy the book, and listened to the lectures a week or so before the exams (which are VERY straightforward) and had a 98 in the class. Go to the review sessions, she essentially gives you the answers to the essay questions
I looked forward to coming to this class. Heather is great.
Super friendly, approachable, and fun to listen to. Her class was interesting and I enjoyed the material. She lacked organization and her grading wasn't fair. She was incredibly picky about small details. I personally think I deserved a higher grade. I think she needs to worry less about small details and worry more about each student's success.
Really good class, interesting material. Basically teaching how to be a mother. Exams are easy, she tries to make sure everyone succeeds. Best 3 out of 4 exams, best 4 out of 6 reflection assignments. Take this class if possible!
I watched every powerpoint & never got bored. Her examples & videos were great supplements. Go to the review sessions, watch all the lectures, & read the chapters quickly & you'll have no problem getting an A. Her study guides & essay question banks are all you need to know for the exams. She learned & remembered my name after meeting me once! Love
