He was a little man with a gigantic ego selling his book to students at absurd prices. He was masochisticly rude and would stop class to humiliate anyone late. I was one who he publicly chastised which made me choose to skip the lecture if I was running 2 minutes late. He failed me for poor attendance.

AFRICAN/FOLKLORE 210

I took African Story Teller 210 back in 1992-1993, this was by far the worst class taken. Prof Scheub used to be good but after getting a bad review from Rolling Stones of it being an easy push off class, he became hardcore around my time of taking his lecture. If you don't agree with his viewpoint of the MOTIF literature he will fail you period.

Jim Schreiber i took two of his classes and he was the best teacher I think I ever had. He was very nice helped a lot and we had a good relationship

Attendance is mandatory. His lectures were uninteresting and he made it seem like the class would be very hard. I struggled to take notes because he literally wants you to only use his analysis of the stories and nothing else, but in the end I just said exactly what he wanted and got an A. I also did the extra honors paper, which was 2 drafts.
