i'm sorry but guillermina is just crazy. she once got angry with me for asking for a rubric bc she grades on how much she likes your writing/analysis. she directs the class like she wants students to give specific answers that only she knows and gets frustrated when students (1) can't read her mind and/or (2) aren't saying what she wants to hear.

VERY unclear grading. I swear she just picks a random grade. Some of my best work on exams got me a failing score, while other rushed ones have gotten A's. Forgot to assign essays so crammed them all into the last month! So cool! Commonly fought with students to the point of crying in class. Plz save yourself the most uncomfortable class ever.

Honestly, I've never had a problem with a teacher before. Unfortunetly

This professor does not have a clear connection between her syllabus and her grading. If you don't have the same interpretation of Cuban photography that she does, you will not pass. As an individual with a degree, she may have knowledge, but as a professor, does not have consistency to be an effective and helpful educator. Tenure laziness shows.

I adore Guillermina. The theory she assigns can be tough, but the class discussions are helpful. The class only had ten students in it, so it was more of a discussion than a lecture. When I was going through a tough time in my life, she was more than accommodating. I hope I can work with her again in the future.

Guillermina is never clear on any of her assignments and just assumes that students know what to do. She picks on students and calls them out in class. I have never heard a professor be as rude and disrespectful to students in a classroom ever. I hated every moment in her class. She doesn't grade until the final, so be ready to not know your grade.

She rarely follows the syllabus so you must wait for her to post the assignment online, typically only a day or two before it's due. She often assigns essays at the last minute with no chance to discuss before writing it so if you're confused you're screwed. Vague about expectations. Very harsh. The most anxiety-inducing class I have ever taken.

Profesora is tough, but fair. She can be a little condescending and humiliate her students in front of the entire class (including myself), but she means well and I don't think she realizes the way she comes across. A lot of intense readings but she always goes over the main themes you should know for the exams. You MUST go to class!

I didn't enjoy being in her class. She has a very stern demeanor and can be very condescending towards students. She expects a lot of participation and will call on you randomly. She doesn't really prepare a lesson or teach, she just leads a discussion and gets frustrated when the class doesn't have anything to say.

Guillermina is incredibly knowledgable about the source material but she doesn't convey it very well. She is also REALLY mean. She laughed at students who made mistakes during class and would just cut you off and tell you were wrong without explaining why. Definitely would avoid her if you can

Difficult class and not very helpful. Has a bad tendency of mocking her students instead of encouraging them to do well.

She is beautiful!!! She is very intelligent and knows extremely well what she teaches. It is very hard to concentrate because she is gorgeous.

I hated her for class as I always felt like she was extremely condescending. She is extremely knowledgeable and one of the best professors I've ever dealt with outside of class. Very intimidating but take the time to get to know her and she'll be a GREAT resource for you. Lots of intense readings.

Profesora is demanding, but excellent. In response to the comments that she is mean, I would argue it's more of a manner of speaking. 326 is a literature class; she expects you to actually think about what you're reading instead of just explain what is happening in the story on a superficial level. Grow up, people! Overall, a great professor!

Difficult to sit through this class. The whole time is spent discussing the books and she never has a set agenda of things to cover, so there is a lot of awkward silence. She can be mean too, and often just cuts you off if she doesn't agree with what you're saying. She has obvious favorites and I didn't particularly love any of the books she picked

She's not afraid to make you feel inadequate and if she doesn't like you for whatever reason, she just won't even try to help you nor even pay attention to your work. One time she picked on one student the entire class. I went her office multiple times and she said that she just didn't know how to help me but that I should seek outside help

Best spanish prof I've ever had. Tough, but fair-- and she's into genuine learning, not the "repeat after me" crap that's all to common these days. No busy work; you read the material and then you discuss it. This class renewed my interest in my spanish major.

Guillermina is a tough teacher. She tries to stimulate interest in the texts while greatly encouraging analytical thinking. She is rather intimidating, but if you talk to her one-on-one, she is very nice. Despite everything, you can still achieve an A if you complete all her expectations - especially participating.

Although a good lecturer, she can be just plain mean, and I've seen her make a few students cry. She doesn't try to hide it at all if she hates a particular student, and can be friendly and helpful or cold and unfair depending on how much she likes you.

Gorgeous but tough

Hot. Well-versed in her field but can get snarky when class is not actively discussing. Chose a reading selection that I felt to be beyond most of the students' capability. Fair grader. Try to get on her good side by showing an interest.

Very stimulating on the lectures, but very anal and has high expectations. Pretty easy, just too demanding. Not the friendliest, just OK.
