Chamedes is such a kind professor who really cares about the students understanding and her teaching style was very effective. This course covered a lot of interesting topics and also had an outreach project at the end of the semester which was a really cool opportunity. Would recommend taking this class as it counts towards ethnic studies.

Fantastic professor, so kind!

A GREAT PROFESSOR! She's really nice and very understanding for anything unexpected that comes your way. Just email her beforehand if any due dates would be missed on your end. Her teaching quality is great with occasional guest speakers to enrich her contents. Her class has NO exams, but a final capstone to submit at the end of the semester.

Absolutely wonderful professor, clearly loved teaching and made class engaging for students.

Interesting class with incredibly helpful feedback

Such a great professor and person. I couldn't recommend this professor or this class (HIST 366) enough.

Best history class I have ever taken! Professor Chamedes is full of light and is super caring & empathetic. Having trouble? Just ask her for help! Her lectures are engaging and you can tell she is knowledgable and cares about the subject. 10/10 would recommend her classes.

The class was disorganized and a little chaotic at times. But outside of that, Prof Chamedes was a good professor who genuinely cared about the topic, and gave lots of leeway on the directions the students wanted to take the class. Participation matters a ton, not the kind of class you can slink into the background of.

Her lectures are informative, and if you miss one you always have the chance of viewing it on the Canvas page. There are one too many speeches for my liking that you have to give, but other than that she's kind and presents a mostly objective version of history. Your grade will be composed mostly of a number of projects which can be laborious.

She is a great lecturer. Very engaging and welcoming at office hours.

Professor Chamedes was an amazing professor and I would recommend this class to anyone - whether you are a history major or just looking to fulfill a requirement. She really cares about teaching her students and ensuring that they are doing okay in the class. She knows a great deal about European history and is so passionate about the subject.

Prof Chamedes is nice but I found the class to be odd as a whole - lacked emphasis on historical facts and more emphasis on acting as historians. Not what I expected the class to be.

Professor Chamedes is one of the most genuine professors at UW Madison. Her vast knowledge of the topics discussed allows for deep and efficient discussion. She responds to emails almost immediately and makes herself available for any assistance you need. Her feedback is generous and she provides the tools for you to greatly improve your writing.

She's really nice while not being a pushover; also very honest when giving feedback. My class only had one test, though it was given about 3/4 of the way through the semester so it didn't cover all the material so I pretty much stopped paying attention in lectures with no consequence.

Professor Chamedes provided an inclusive, friendly, and fun learning environment. The course themes that she focused on were largely chosen the students. She was always quick to respond to emails and very understanding and generous with late work. Speak up in class (she really wants you to) and put forth your best efforts on the large assignments.

Prof. Chamedes is an overall great professor and really nice woman. She'll really go out of her way to be helpful and really knows what she's talking about. Her class is by no means a breeze, but if you put in a reasonable amount of effort, an A or AB is very realistic. Would highly recommend!

Good class. Good professor. Would Recommend , despite moderate difficulty.

A very nice woman, but often failed to keep class discussion interesting. She offered help a lot, which was nice, but the help itself wasn't always that helpful.

Professor Chamedes is an outstandingly bright and passionate young woman who cares sincerely for her students. She is the real deal, hardworking, engaged, and knowledgeable. What makes her stand out from the rest is her limitless compassion. She is a caring and kind woman. Also, sidenote, I learned so much and grew as a student thnks to her!

Professor Chamedes is one of the truly amazing professors in the history department. She is very enthusiastic about helping her students achieve their highest potential. Participation is important so be prepared when you come to class. I would take this class again in a heartbeat and hope to take more of her courses in the future.

One of the most genuine professors at UW, really cares about her students and does everything to set them up to grow, learn, and do well overall. Awesome energy and always there to help. TAKE HER CLASS!

If you have a chance to take one of her classes, do it. She is very fun, helpful, and makes the material interesting. The assignments are all interesting and she helps foster your creativity with them.

Great prof. Very friendly, helpful, & makes grading expectations very clear. One of the nicest professors. Class was discussion based (small seminar). Activities & prof encourage creativity. Assignments were interesting, useful, & not too stressful. I can't think of any reason not to take the class unless you REALLY hate talkingworking in groups.

Took a research course with her. She is brilliant, helpful, and has high expectations for all her students. Would recommend her to anyone interested in engaging with history

She is very passionate about her role in teaching history. She requires a lot of reading for her course, so be prepared to stay up late with a cup of coffee every night. Despite this, the readings are all somewhat interesting. The class was graded on writing papers and an informal oral presentation at the end. Tough grader, but a good professor

I am not a history major and I took this to get a history credit and got an AB. The grades are papers, one test and an oral presentation. There is no grades hw. You get a large course manual online and the reading is brutal as far as quantity so I didnt do it. A very interesting and hands on class, but material in lecture had small impact on grade

Awesome professor, really enthusiastic about the topic and gives her students lots of opportunities to do well in class. A lot of reading and writing but nothing too overbearing. Can be tough on papers but the final is was an Oral and not too hard. Definitely would suggest to a friend but not one looking for an easy A.

She graded way too tough, I've taken many other history courses at Madison and never got below a B. I did more work in this class than any of those other courses and got a worse grade. She's super passionate about the topic though and it shows in both her lectures and, unfortunately, her grading. If you're not a history major, good luck.
