Good professor who is very kind to his students. Very knowledgable and easy grader. There is one paper and one big group project. There are discussion posts but they are only graded for participation. Very interesting class with incredibly cool guest speakers from around the world. He has a lot of connections and this is a great class!
Professor Bousquet is very caring and understanding of all of his students and their circumstances. He makes participation fun, corrects you in a way that does not embarrass you, encourages participation but if no one wishes to answer a question when he poses it, he will help answer or aid in your thought process. I would take all of his courses.
If you take French at UW-Madison, you want to take his class. You'll feel like you're learning while still being at ease and having fun. Love bousquet
Prof Bousquet was one of the more memorable professors of my college years. I had him for two classes (FR 348, 314) and for both courses he showed enthusiasm, understanding, and personality. His lectures are interesting which helps for attendance. As for grading, he is fair yet also understanding of student situations. Highly recommend!
I loved Prof Bousquet. I took French 211 with him, which was a culture class and in English. I thought he was such a great teacher that I made sure to be in his French class the next semester. He is passionate about what he teaches, and his assignments are interesting and relevant. He is also a very nice grader!
He is one of the kindest professors Ive ever had. He goes out of his way to ensure student success, and he is extremely understanding if you cannot get to class or deliver homework on time. He grades very fairly, all the assignments are all relevant to the class, and he is also very funny and upbeat! After our first exam, he brought us macarons!
Monsieur Bousquet cares so much about his students and genuinely wants them to learn/succeed! Attendance isn't technically mandatory, but he does pay attention to who shows up consistently--and much of what appears on exams is heavily emphasized in class. Overall, I learned a lot (both about French language and culture) and greatly enjoyed it!
One of the kindest professors in the French department. Genuinely wants students to succeed. My French was improved. Assignments allowed for lots of creativity. Lots of group work but not too difficult. Only negative in this class was an expensive online code that was only used to watch a few cheesy short films. Great professor and class overall.
Professor Bousquet is the best french professor I've ever had! He makes me excited to go to class and I actually even enjoy some of the assignments. He makes sure to get feedback from students about what they want from the course. I'm taking 313 with him next semester and I'm super pumped for another semester with him!
Professor Bousquet is really encouraging of class participation, and he creates a good environment where people don't feel ridiculed. I would definitely recommend him to another person, and I plan on taking more classes with him if I can. He's super nice and he can be really funny.
Prof. Bousquet creates a great environment for participation. Class goes by pretty quickly because he switches up the activities. You'll soon be pretty comfortable speaking in front of the class, which is really what it's all about. His feedback is direct but he doesn't ever make you feel dumb about your mistakes. Great for your confidence!
