THIS IS FOR MATH 540. Professor Ball did not reply to emails, good luck getting in touch with him. He will not provide you with his notes under any circumstances and will not post homework solutions. He also will post exam reviews, but it took asking him 10+ times for solutions, and those were not comprehensive. I would not recommend him.Rate My Professors ↗

I'm seeing these awful reviews and wanted to address that students were so disrespectful in his class and very few were paying any attention. Those complaining about him writing on a chalkboard are the ones putting in zero effort to follow his lecture notes, so their poor understanding of the material falls on them, not Gavin. Ball was a good professor. He was thorough in class and willing to spend time going over confusing concepts when asked to do so. Encouraged the class to ask questions during lectures. I took AP calc last year which definitely gave me a leg up. He is a nice guy and willing to help. Attendance IS mandatory tho, otherwise, you won't understand.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Ball is a fair professor. It was my first time taking Calculous so I didn't understand anything during the lectures, but if you take good notes you will be glad because he does good example problems during the lectures which are very helpful. If you put some effort into this class I believe it is pretty fair.Rate My Professors ↗
Trust the process. The tests were all over the place but it averages out. Everything is optional but go!! Especially the discussions. Math is easier for me but the highest class I had previously taken was intro calc junior year of hs. Says funny European things like zed and cuboid. Left handed.
