Gary Green is an extremely nice guy. He is passionate about his subject and about helping his students succeed. He is easy to access and always welcomes you with a smile. I highly recommend him as a professor. His teaching style is also exceptional. He prefers discussing with the class rather than making the class memorize. Take his class!

Gary is a really nice person but I was always feeling flustered in his class. He often assumes prior knowledge about community planning topics that a lot of us had no idea about. We also had graduate students in class that were well rehearsed on these topics, but the undergrads always seemed behind no matter how prepared we came to class.

Gary is a smart, nice guy but his way of teaches was a little unorganized. The material is very interesting and relevant but I always felt like he would just talk about the subject for awhile without clearly laying the material out in a format. Way more reading than I would expect in an intro course (around 70 pages a week) but easily graded.

Class is not bad. Prof Green doesn't allow laptops in class, so taking notes difficult because he kind of goes all over the place and talks pretty fast. I suggest printing off lecture slides. And go to office hours! He is super helpful and will explain anything you want to know. He's really nice & class is good

Great professor. Clearly is passionate about what he teaches. This class sent me on to my major: Rural Sociology. Tests were a little tough and reflection papers got very tiresome, but he always asked for feedback in lecture about the readings, homework, etc. Fantastic.
