Dr. Hobbs was an awesome professor who really cares about his content. The class isn't easy due to the difficulty of exams and the homework/knowledge checks being graded on accuracy but Franklin was always willing to help before/after class and in office hours; He adjusted the grading cutoffs by one pointish-he didn't announce it, but did it in MyUW

Professor Hobbs is a great professor who truly cares about the subject matter he is teaching. He is very kind and accessible outside of classes. Homework and quizzes were not difficult, however the exams were very hard. If you want to do well I think you have to go to office hours and make sure you understand everything covered in lectures.

MS&E 350 is a class that doesn't feel hard- the lectures are awesome, the homework is doable, but the exams were mildly difficult making his feel harder than it should be. Overall, loved Dr. Hobbs' class and would recommend it to any engineering major

Professor Hobbs is always very enthusiastic about the topics he is teaching and tries to make lectures as interactive as possible. He encourages working with other students and sharing your ideas in class. He emphasizes learning and applying concepts. His exams and homework can be difficult and toughly graded, but good grades are achievable.

Professor Hobbs is the most passionate, enthusiastic professor I've ever had. It was a pleasure being in his class, and I could not recommend him more. His lectures are quite interactive/hands on which makes them very interesting.

He's energetic and enthusiastic and you can tell he cares about his students- I really enjoyed his in-class demos. However, exams are multiple choice, 28 questions, and 1 hour, so they do not accurately assess your knowledge. He's very responsive to feedback though so don't be afraid to reach out to him.

Great lecturer good class.

He is a fantastic professor, however, exams were a total of 45% of your grade. No matter how much you study for exams, there WILL be questions you don't know. He is a great lecturer. Always make it interesting

Franklin is fantastic, and you should take him. He is young and LOVES his material, so you will likely enjoy learning it. His only weakness is typos. There are frequent typos on homework and exams. Be prepared to lose points even if you understand the material. However, an A is 90%, so it is still achievable despite this.

The goat.

Clearly laid out plan for the semester accessible outside of class, lecture videos uploaded to canvas for viewing after class(or in case you miss class); highly recommend.

Professor Hobbs was great and so fun! He really knows his stuff and taught all the concepts extremely well. He's also really funny and great to have a conversation with. Definitely one of the best professors I've had.

Franklin is the BEST!! He really cares about his students and does his best to make sure everyone is understanding the material. The classes are difficult, but you will learn a lot.

Haven't finished his class yet but he is really passionate about the class and super knowledgeable. Take his class if possible.

Franklin is down to earth and a very good professor. He understands how to use technology for a learning environment and makes the most of the class's time without being boring or wasting minutes. I would take more classes with him if my degree program followed that path.

Franklin is wonderful. His lectures are mostly about interaction and active learning. He teaches the material in an exciting way and is very accessible after class and during office hours. He hosts extra review sessions and is supportive of collaboration. You want Franklin as your professor. He's one of the best in the engineering department.
