This class is awful but Frances is the easiest grader of them all by far. Take her because it will make the workload a lot more manageable and give a grading cushion. The only thing that really sucks is the investigative report but just bs it and the sources. Field specific presentation also blows but the rest isn't bad. It's a useless class though
Grades very easily. Always willing to help. In my opinion, pretty unorganized. Instructions for Portfolio assignments were scattered all over Canvas in different parts. Makes awkward laughs a lot which bugs me lol.
GB300 isn't the thought provoking class, but Frances is great. Seemingly grades on the more lenient side, tries to make the class more interesting, and definitely cares about her students. Take GB300 with Frances!
Do yourself a favor and take Frances for GB300. She is the easiest grader and is just overall a good person.
GB300 as a class is just a lot of busy work but Laskey is one of the best profs for it. She is pretty funny and makes the class somewhat entertaining. She's a really easy grader compared to the other profs and she cares about and is very personable with her students. Does take a while to grade things but that didn't really bug me
GB 300 sucks but Frances made it tolerable. She's kinda quirky which made the dry topics covered as interesting as they could be. Frances provides clear grading expectations and is an easy grader if you follow her instructions. Only complaint is she takes FOREVER to enter grades in Canvas.
Despite who you have, GB 300 is an absolutely absurd class. Frances is alright. She's available to meet outside of class if needed. However, she takes the entire semester to grade assignments.
Frances is awesome. While the busywork of Professional Communication sucks, Frances makes it better. The Final Portfolio is a TON of work, so start early. Frances is always available outside of her regular office hours to look at your portfolio. In class, she is really funny and caring. Great instructor!
Frances is hands down the best GB300 professor available at UW. Gives amazing feedback, always available to meet outside of regular office hours. Super accommodating for student needs and does her best to keep the lectures engaging even though the material is sorta dry. Expect small writing assignments weekly, 2 speeches & 1 final paper (4-5 pages)
I think Frances is an awesome professor. The class itself is a little dry but she really does a great job explaining the importance of the work we are doing. She gives us ample time to work in class, ask questions and chat with others about projects. Assignments are hyped up to be a little intimidating but the grading is more lenient than expected
