His powerpoints aren't helpful and the presentation he accompanies them with tends to get off topic or turns into rambling--half the time I wasn't sure what to write down out of what he was saying. Several short papers with one long paper at the end. Professor was nice and helpful but left the class up to the students a lot. He definitely knew a lot about the subject so I wish he shared more.",

I have never been more discouraged and frustrated by a course.  Scarano is a nice guy who's very passionate about Puerto Rico and teaching, but severely overestimates how much background one has",

When I approached him about auditing another class the next term, he said &quot;no&quot; beacause I was too intimidating, due to my age, that I was not only older than their parents but the age of their grandparents. Due to my age I was not welcome.",
