I had Prof Catan for French 2 at Pitzer. She's very laid-back and accommodating, but somewhat disorganized. Tests often get pushed back, which is helpful if we don't understand the material but difficult to plan for. She does this to accommodate for her students though, which I really appreciate. Uses Mindtap for homework, and you need to buy it.Rate My Professors ↗

I had Fely for first-year seminar at Pitzer. She is a really nice person and clearly knows a lot about critical theory, but this class was very easy and I didn't learn much. The class is supposed to be an intro to college writing, but we only wrote three short (2-3 pg) papers. She gave almost no criticism or feedback. Assigns good readings though.Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Catan has been my favorite professor I've had. I took French and its Empire course and I learned so much in that class. I feel like she truly cares for the students. She is one of the few professors I felt like I could talk to and overall her class is just very enjoyable. I highly recommend the class and her as a professor.Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Catan centers discussion in her classes. I felt as though my conversational skills and analytical skills had improved immensely after taking this class. Professor Catan is a very lenient grader and was very helpful to me as a first-year in her upper-level Spanish class. The class requires weekly movie watching and a decent amount of reading that is followed by group discussions and discussion posts online, yet this is not very difficult and isn't the end of the world if you don't complete all of itRate My Professors ↗
