The teacher deserves higher rating. Stop thinking only all the teachers gives you a good grade is the good teacher. In the real world at working place, it's not like that! Grow up guys. The course schedule is heavy. It's not the teacher's fault. When I was taking it, she showed her care and gave very good support.
She is an easy grader which is nice, but her she is so picky on everything you write. Beware because she will call you out if you come in late or are having side conversations with friends. Overall, I'd definitely recommend her for GB360 but be prepared to work and have to deal with some annoying things here and there.
This is by far the worst class I've ever had to take. The amount of work every week is unreal and it's filled with writing pointless papers and doing tedious research for an extremely niche topic. Be prepared to be constantly drowning in work for this class. Bess is fine but she's so picky that it makes it hard to do things correctly.
This has been one of the worst classes I've taken so far. the actual class content is simple enough, but we are constantly bombarded with what feels like endless busy work, with several page long instructions that nit-pick every single possible aspect of the assignment. It is honestly exhausting to try and keep up with all of the several weekly HWs
Bess is a fantastic professor for a terrible class. Since everyone has to take GB300, I recommend taking it with her. She is very caring but yet gives helpful criticism. Her office hours are extremely helpful. Be ready to put forth a ton of work in this class though.
What a terrible class and teacher. SO much time consuming work that has NO point. It feels like a middle-school level course intellectually with a workload harder than any college class I've had. Be prepared to do 5+ assignments every single week (due @ the same time) on top of regular scheduled projects and presentations. How is this even a class?
The best for GB300! Lots of work, but an easy grader. Feedback is helpful (go to office hours); you get out what you put in for this class. She makes it fun and friendly. Don't goof on your phone or computer in class--she'll see you when you don't think she can (and she'll dock points). Clear expectations. She really cares. I highly recommend!
Bess is awesome as an instructor. She's really positive and gives great feedback on papers and assignments. The class however, is quite pointless. I legitimately don't think I learned anything that I didn't previously know. It's unfortunately required for business majors. I felt like Bess was a pretty easy grader and it's not difficult to get an A
Bess is probably the best communications instructor I've had here. Although the class work is not always enjoyable, it is manageable, and Bess is very responsive to questions on assignments. She also does a good job of fostering a friendly, social environment, and I like that a lot. (The class I took was Professional Communications, by the way.)
