She reads slowly off the slides and that's about it. Makes it hard to focus in lecture so the textbook is a good supplement since most of the content is from there. Her grading is absolutely random as she would take off fractions of points for no apparent reason, and give minimal justification. She allegedly had a rubric for assignments which seems to be imaginary. Bizarre professor. Avoid.","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/319454","quality_rating":1,"difficulty_rating":4},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:40:01.303863+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTQyMjkxMzEy","source_instructor_id":"rmp:319454","instructor_name":"Evelyn Howell","course_label":"BIOCORE381","course_id":"BIOCORE 381","course_uid":"course_52a1055a4196c042b145bf49","review_date":"2025-12-16 20:54:55 +0000 UTC","comment":"Her slides are purposefully confusing just so people do not skip lectures. Her grading is based in nothing, written all in pencil and impossible to read, and you will lose 0.2 points because she feels like it. No study guides or practice exams. She is terrible with technology, boring in lectures, and overall not a good prof. I don't rec. They are often loaded with text and it becomes difficult to know what is actually expected from you on the exams. I still suggest taking 381, but it will be a lot of independent work.
