You spend more time doing random Excel calculations rather than learning about practical corporate finance. Not a very helpful class at all. Conceptually not very difficult but he makes the exams very challenging so that he can apply a curve. You're basically tested on how well you remember setting up calculations in Excel.Rate My Professors ↗
Class was very difficult but he did his best and it turned out well. Conceptually, I learned a LOT about finance theory and how it all works together. Very approachable and incredibly smart. Erwan is a nice guy that cares about his students and is passionate about his teaching. However, you will not learn a thing in this course. There are a few easy homework assignments and 2 tough exams, and that's all you are graded on. I just finished the course and didn't learn anything about finance. Professor Quintin is a really nice person. He cares about everyone and has a lot of patience on the class and out of class. Although the exam is a little bit hard, but the exam is open to books, computers and phones. You can learn a lot of useful skills on his course. Choose Erwan, you won't regret. If you have the chance to take any class with Professor Quintin, but especially RE 410, do it. He is by far more challenging than any of the other professors who teach the subject, but if real estate is what you want to do you must take a class with him.
