He's a good teacher, but be prepared for difficult exams. You'll do better on exams if you spend time understanding trends (especially acid base chem), because there are usually one or two questions that can't be solved if you only memorize the mechanisms. He's helpful during office hours, and is good about answering questions during lecture.Rate My Professors ↗
really great at teaching the material, but gives unfair exams with material that we had not seen before/ was nearly impossible to figure out within the timeframe of the exams. for example: for exam 3 he gave us a list of 31 reactions to memorize. a 20% mechanism question had an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MECHANISM than the literally 31 other ones provided.Rate My Professors ↗
Overall, good professor. His lectures are organized and he explains things very clearly. Willing to answer students' questions and help them out. Tests are tough, there's always one problem that seems to stump the majority of the class, but they definitely aren't unfair. One of my better professors here.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Strieter is a great teacher. He provides clear and very organized lecture notes that really help. He explains the material very well in class. Strieter was one of my favorite professors at UW. Extremely helpful in office hours, genuinely cares about students, and gives clear organized lectures. Exams are difficult but fair.
