prejudice reduction, which is what her research is focused on. She was fine overall, but wouldn't input grades or provide feedback midway through the semester. She was late to her own deadlines when she promised grades by. It felt hypocritical given her hard late policy. Wouldn't recommend for a 601 course.","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/2320354","quality_rating":2,"difficulty_rating":3},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:41:07.995570+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTMzOTQzMzU0","source_instructor_id":"rmp:2320354","instructor_name":"Emily Dix","course_label":"PSYCH601","course_id":"PSYCH 601","course_uid":"course_4659324d93459bdfdda706a3","review_date":"2020-12-03 22:30:00 +0000 UTC","comment":"Lectures are kind of boring. She expects everyone to participate but wont cold call you. lots of reading for each class with discussion posts for each reading. Emily is very nice, helpful, and accessible outside of class. Assignments are clearly explained. No final, no midterm. 1 presentation, 1 large research paper as a final.","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/2320354","quality_rating":3,"difficulty_rating":3},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:41:07.995570+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTMxNTU4MjY3","source_instructor_id":"rmp:2320354","instructor_name":"Emily Dix","course_label":"PSYCH456","course_id":"PSYCH 456","course_uid":"course_ac8b1c27fdbde1a0c941dbaf","review_date":"2019-04-09 17:57:50 +0000 UTC","comment":"Professor Dix was super nice but her lectures were so dry it was hard to pay attention. The lecture is easy to follow and goes over the same studies as the textbook. The exams were fair. Really cannot tell why this professor has such a low rating, as this is one of the few classes I've actually learned something in. You can tell Professor Dix is really knowledgeable also.","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/2320354","quality_rating":5,"difficulty_rating":3},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:41:07.995570+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTMxMDY3ODEy","source_instructor_id":"rmp:2320354","instructor_name":"Emily Dix","course_label":"PSYCH456","course_id":"PSYCH 456","course_uid":"course_ac8b1c27fdbde1a0c941dbaf","review_date":"2018-12-17 20:30:07 +0000 UTC","comment":"Emily goes over very few things in her lectures that are covered by the textbook so in order to do well you need to teach yourself the majority of the material.","source_url":"https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/2320354","quality_rating":2,"difficulty_rating":4},{"observed_at":"2026-09-07 16:41:07.995570+00:00","run_id":"20260907T155543-ce3781c4","source_review_id":"UmF0aW5nLTMwOTc2NDE2","source_instructor_id":"rmp:2320354","instructor_name":"Emily Dix","course_label":"PSY456","course_id":null,"course_uid":null,"review_date":"2018-12-11 22:12:36 +0000 UTC","comment":"Contrary to others, I found Emily to be a great instructor.
