Prof Powell was great in poli sci 400. Lectures ended right on time or slightly earlier. Posts slides, and tests are related exactly to them. Lots of reading outside of class (40-80 pg a week) but it makes the course so much easier if you do them.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof Powell was great and so were her TAs! Her class is designed to set you up for success, and she is very receptive to feedback. The content was not difficult, but connecting it to the real world made the class engaging through lecture comparisons and simulation assignments. Prof. Powell is amazing, esp for this class! The simulation organization is great, and the homework is super easy. Readings are interesting, and her lectures are actually interesting. Professor Powell is an engaging lecturer and always connects the material to current events and interesting concepts. The class's simulation projects were really fun and informative, and this course helped me understand Congress on a deeper level. I really enjoyed this class and Dr. Powell. Her research seems cool and she definitely cares about students learning rather than earning specific grades. She did a simulation activity where you're assigned one democrat and one republican house member to represent for the semester. One midterm that was a few questions and an essay.Rate My Professors ↗
