Dorothea was phenomenal. Passionate, personable, and worked hard to ensure her classroom was a welcoming environment for all. Lectures were thought provoking and engaging. She cared deeply about student success and offered insightful and constructive feedback. As a student with disabilities, Dorothea was a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend.

Dorothea definitely made this course worth taking. She was passionate about the topic and did very well talking about it. The homework assignments/readings didn't always feel connected to the main bulk of the course, but the course was good nonetheless. (it's also an easy A)

LIS 601: Dorothea is very good about shoving her personal beliefs about the LIS world down your throat and will berate you for asking questions and requesting help. Her assigned readings and course materials only define her personal beliefs about LIS and she refuses to accept other viewpoints. She ignores disability accommodations regularly also.

Dorothea was great teaching this class. While the title seems a bit underwhelming, you will learn a lot from this class through the different projects and especially in lab. Exams were definitely more of an assessment of if you did the lectures and readings vs. your ability to regurgitate information from memory. Great class, you wont regret it.

Her lectures can get dry and there are a lot of words on the PPT, but I learnt soooooo much from it! One of the best classes to take if you wanna get the digital studies certificate, and the projects are fun to do and very easily graded. Exams are on canvas and you can go through your notes while taking them. Overall, fantastic experience.

As a non computer major I went into this class with a little trepidation. But I absolutely loved this class. Material presented in a relate-able and non-intimidating way. Assignments and tests are lined out in a crystal clear manner, and there are plenty of opportunities to seek help before they're due. Ms. Salo is open to feedback and interaction!

Dorothea was an awesome professor. The class was well balanced between coding and studying the computing industry. The topics we discussed were interesting and grading of homework (code assignments and papers) was generous. I would definitely take a class with her again.
