He is a very knowledgable professor and makes sure to keep classes interesting and relevant to students. He respects his students and asks for their feedback often. Very kind grader which makes it easy for students to relieve themselves of the pressure of performing well, and put more focus into just learning. If you can, take a class with him!
Doesn't believe in midterms so we had weekly quizzes and homework packets due in lecture so lectures are pretty much mandatory but it's ok. He's funny and smart. Sometimes he messes up but very polite when corrected. Sometimes topics get confusing but he's more than open to questions.
Excellent Professor!
He gave us a weekly quiz instead of having midterms. The only test was the final exam. It was a lot less stressful than midterms, and made me stay on track better. Quizzes were in class and Problem Sets were gave out in class. Lectures were interesting and he was a very entertaining way to start my mornings. He also gave us candy.
Excellent Professor! He really cares about the topics, and even more about the students.
One of my favorite classes at UW-Madison. Professor Parker teaches the class at a manageable pace and his lectures are pretty interesting. Some subjects can get a bit dull, but nothing too bad. Take this class if you have the opportunity.
Not an exceptionally inspirational guy, but he is really interested in his discipline so that makes it easy to listen to him talk. He is really helpful and will walk you through stuff you struggle with if you go to office hours. Also I'm pretty sure he's come to class hungover a couple times.
Awesome teacher, awesome class. Very easy if you go to lecture. Problem set worth 5 pts. due every tuesday, quiz worth 10 pts. every thursday. Quizzes are very manageable, he spells out what will be on them. A little disorganized bc he changed the class, but really interesting class/ 100% would take again. Not an Econ or math guy ? not a problem
Didn't give any midterms. Just one final and weekly quizzes. Lectures are kind of boring but he tries to make it as interesting as possible. Overall an easygoing guy and I really liked him.
Very good professor. Interesting Class. Bi-weekly quizzes to keep class studying material. Fair exams. One of my favorite professors at UW.
Professor Parker is absolutely awesome - very passionate about the subject, cares a lot about his students, is very clear, and intent on seeing everyone succeed! Has lots of small quizzes and problem sets to make sure you stay on top of the material, which I really liked. One of my favorite professors at Madison, for sure.
