Very interesting class, need to attend lectures but the midterm and final are both online and Prof. Kennedy is a very engaging lecturer.

Mr. Kennedy is an excellent professor and I'm so glad I took this class!

Easiest class I have taken. You dont need to attend lectures but have to attend discussion sections. Total of less than 10 assignments through the whole semester, 2 online-open note mid terms, NO FINAL, 1 major essay assignment. You can skim through the readings and have an idea during discussions.

Lectures aren't mandatory, but he doesn't write much on the slides he posts so if you want details you have to attend (often not necessary, but helpful for quizzes or discussion). Participation is important for discussion, and your grade consists of a few large assignments that get mediocre feedback.

You do not really have to go to lecture to do well in this class, he posts all the slides. You do have to go to the discussion but isn't that bad. Overall pretty easy class.

Professor Kennedy is awesome! Lectures were not required (you could probably get the idea from the slides that he posted and what is discussed in readings/discussions), but they were very interesting! Discussions are graded on quality of participation and you can miss up to 2 sections with no grade deductions. Overall, very interesting class!

Fairly easy class and you can tell Professor Kennedy is a nice guy but the grading scale is a little harsh. You are graded by few things and if you don't put your best foot forward in every assignment it will be difficult to get an A

Very simple class. Your grade consists of a midterm, a final, some weekly reading responses and one paper (an op-ed with months to write & revise). Prof Kennedy is a good guy and lecturer. Only thing is discussion section participation is part of your grade so pay attention to what people are talking about and that should be enough.

Don't be fooled by the good reviews. He's such a mediocre professor. There was little to no feedback given on assignments, and the feedback that was given was very broad. Participation in discussion is never sufficient enough for him, probably because he doesn't believe in giving 100%. It wasn't a super hard class, but it was a total waste of time.

There are biweekly quizzes which are really easy. Readings are a little challenging and hard to get through. Discussions are boring but can have the potential to clarify readings. This course would have been fine if it weren't for the final and midterm format. Having to write 3 seperate essay per exam is actually crazy and tedious.

This dude's great. Knows his stuff, is passionate about course material. Overall awesome. The class has you do readings in conjunction with lectures but they aren't hard and sometimes not necessary, but it does develop your understanding more. Once a week there is discussion which is easy and helps understanding of material. I loved lectures.

Professor Kennedy is a very good lecturer and the material was quite interesting. The only real issue I had was an assignment was marked as missing but I emailed him about it and we resolved it. Probably not the easiest liberal studies class but it I enjoyed it. Just double check your grades at the end of the semester.

Extremely simple class. Your grade consists of a midterm, a final, some weekly reading responses and one paper (an op-ed with months to write & revise). Prof Kennedy is a good guy and lecturer. I didn't go to lecture much since it was at 8:50 am, but if you just go to your discussion and gauge what people are talking about, that should be enough.

Devin Kennedy is just an all around good professor. He gives good lectures and organizes his notes. He also posts the content into Canvas so you can always look back in case you missed a lecture. He's also easily accessible outside of class and is a good guy.

Lectures are not really mandatory but usually are interesting and helpful for exams. The discussion section seemed somewhat pointless because few students read the required text. Prof. Kennedy is an awesome guy, he's super smart and fun to talk with.

You don't need to go to lectures to get a good grade and they were all recorded. Graded by a midterm, final, Op-Ed and about 5 reading responces that are about 200 words each. I didn't read most of the readings and still did well.

His lectures were very boring but you did not need to go to get a good grade and understand the material. A lot of reading was assigned but discussions were helpful in summarizing the key points. Lecture slides were helpful.

Prof Kennedy is a great lecturer and his lectures are easy to follow and straight to the point. I ended up not reading most of the assigned readings and still did well. As long as you keep up with lecture or catch up by watching them you'll be fine for the two exams since they are online. His exams and grading are super fair.

I loved Prof. Kennedy. He was understanding and a great lecturer. There is quite a bit of reading assigned each week, but discussions summarize them.

Professor Kennedy is a great guy, and he is very knowledgeable on what he teaches. Bi-weekly quizzes are open note/book and multiple choice. You can skip lecture and still get the main points from the slides. That being said, attending discussion is very important to understanding some of the more complex primary source material assigned to read.

I really appreciated professor Kennedy for his preparedness for his lectures. As well, he is extremely understanding and has a very pleasant demeanor. Class wasnt bad as long as you study well for the midterm/final since they hold a lot of weight.

He's a good guy. Lectures gave extra Information than the slides, encouraging attendance. Discussions depend on your TA but mine were engaging and helpful. Every week there is an assigned short reading with graded response, and then textbook reading which may help with tests but I never did it and still passed with an A.

Professor Kennedy is by far one of the best professors you can have. He is very understanding and caring. He assigns multiple weekly readings but they are doable. The discussions for the class are very helpful in further understanding the material from the week. I took this class to fulfill a requirement but ended up really liking the class.

Professor Kennedy is so passionate in his lectures and very well organized. He's really accommodating if you need an extension on an assignment. You have to participate in discussion sections but the topics are relatively engaging. The reading is not hard, some are longer than others but you can skim and still get an understanding.

all around good professor. quizzes are manageable and class load is low.

Very straight forward. If you don't mind reading a little bit you'll be fine. It's not "a thousand pages of reading" like some people say it is, but it is a decent amount. Fun class. You do need to be active in the discussion sections that discuss the readings, but they are kind of fun at times for some of the readings.

Mr. Kennedy is a very smart man and knows what hes talking about. However, this class seems very poorly designed. There are almost a thousand pages of reading throughout the semester with very little connections, so myself and everyone I know had major information overload. Also, the group project was absolutely awfully set-up.

Prof. Kennedy is a great guy, he displays his care for his students every single lecture and makes sure that there is no uncertainty with what he expects when it comes to his assignments. That being said, his lectures are all semi-scripted and can get a bit dry sometimes.

He puts a lot of effort into each lecture and provides ample material for you to do well. Lectures are always interesting because he mixes up the ways he provides information.
