BEST professor ever! Not only does he have a kind heart and a good life philosophy (you'll see throughout the class), but those aren't the main reasons I'm giving him a 5. The real reason is he brought amazing donuts to the final exam ;)

Knowledgeable and fun. Learned a lot about CUDA

Dan is a great professor who knows a lot about parallel computing both on CPU and GPU. Lectures and homeworks are well designed; lots of room to explore parallel computing with the final project. I really liked that lecture recordings were made available as well. Great class/great professor/great guy.

Prof. Dan Negrut is the type of professor you want in all of your classes. Super funny guy, brings a lot of vitality to the zoom lectures. This class is one of my favorite classes at UW-Madison. The weekly programming assignments are a lot of work, but they are definitely doable.

The HWs are a lot of work, and require a lot of self-teaching outside of class. However, the material isn't overly difficult. Grading is fair, and exams are reasonable - challenging, but not impossible.

Awesome professor that makes your learn and work for your grade

Great teacher! He's good at presenting the material and giving you exposure to the ideas and technologies behind HPC. He's more focused on you learning than making the class impossible. The class is a lot of work but not hard to do well in if you put in the work. Great class!

Seems to be someone who really cares about the students. The material he presents is well made and is very good to get acquainted with High performance computing with CUDA, OpenMP and so on.

Lenient grader

Great professor - very good at explaining difficult concepts and keeps the class entertaining. He records all of his lectures and has review sessions for his exams. Very approachable and all-around great guy.

Far and away the best professor I've had at school so far. really cares that everyone in class is understanding material as he teaches. Learns everyones' names and jokes around a lot in class. If you have the chance take a class with him.

quick class pace, good reviews before exams, if you show up you have a good idea whats on the test. HW is 30% of final grade because there is alot of it. knows what he is talking about
