I was so excited about this course but Professor Thompson is a terrible lecturer. The entire course is basically a giant tangent about whatever interests him and he'll loosely tie it back to consumer behavior. I honestly felt like I learned nothing after every lecture. His tests were also very detail-specific rather than big picture focused :/
Craig may be a nice guy, but has crazy difficult exams. Grading criteria is not clear. Exams are majority of your grade and hand made by Craig. Extremely difficult. Would not recommend at all. Go for a different professor or push this class of until there is another one.
I just really like this dude. Concepts are super interesting, assignments and exams aren't hard as long as you stay on top of the readings and lectures. Although the readings can be real wordy at times.
If you are interested in consumer behavior this is a great class to take. Prof Thompson talks a lot about different scientific models and supplements them with real-world examples. Very interesting lectures! Tests are not that hard but you need to study. Overall the class is fairly easy and very interesting!
Craig Thompson is obviously an expert in Consumer Behavior Theory, and it shows in his lectures. He is informed, interesting, enthusiastic, and makes the class fun and really entertaining. The material is so thought provoking that studying is really easy. Take his class. What you learn is applicable in the real world and the class is fantastic.
Thompson is a great professor and his lectures are interesting, especially when he shares about projects he's worked on or articles he wrote. He's one of the most impatient people I've ever met, but its kind of funny. The class required little work because your grade was based on 3 exams, that's it. I'd say the exams were medium difficulty.
Craig Thompson is an awkward guy who talks continuously for a solid hour. He's also funny, engaging, tireless, and does statistical analysis to guarantee his tests are fair. He'll never get that chili pepper, but the course was the best that semester.
Loved him! Interesting class. Read the articles...it's worth it and helps understand lectures. Print PPT's and take notes...the slides can be confusing. Study hard bc exams are only 30 points, so missing points hurts more. Class did not require a lot of work, but if you want an A--do the work! So many people didn't do anything and complained...
Craig is a great teacher, tells funny stories and is not afraid to make a fool of himself in class. He is extremely intelligent and the course material is fairly scholarly, however his teaching style and exams are structured to break down complex ideas into basic, main forms. Class doesn't involve tons of work, and consists of 3 exams. Fun class
CT was a great teacher for MKT 305. He teaches it from a different perspective than other professors. Some of the readings are extremely long though. No homework OR group projects, only three tests. The tests are not easy but not insanely difficult.
