This class was a lot of review for me but I really enjoyed it! Professor Corbett is so passionate and nice and it really shows. He makes such an effort to make sure you understand the material. He is intellegent and has a lot of experience. Quizzes similar to hw and ta session.

Corbett is great, but this is the most boring class I've ever taken.

Awful.

This was my favorite class at Wisconsin. I haven't had economics before and it was amazing! I'm recommending this to all of my friends. Go to his office hours and ask questions, he's very kind and helpful.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. WORST CLASS OF MY COLLEGE CAREER. He explained everything as if we had his same expert background as him. Did not teach, then gave very difficult exams that did not reflect what was attempted to be taught.

I loved him. The material for the course was extremely interesting and applicable. The class is graded almost entirely off exams, but they are extremely straightforward if you complete the discussion work, the review, and read over the slides. There are also weekly canvas quizzes that are pretty easy as well. I would recommend this class with him!

Quizzes and exams are the only factors in your grade, but they're pretty fair. Lectures matched up with exams, but sometimes were confusing to go through because Prof Grainger uses a lot of shorthand when writing them. Took this class online and it was a little disorganized, but I feel like I would've given him a 5 if I had taken it in person.

There are very few teacher who care about learning rather than grades. Professor Corbett is one of them! Along with having a lenient curve, he explains the required concepts with many real life examples. He also makes a lot of complicated statistical and mathematical concepts look easy. He is extremely intelligent and considerate at the same time!

He was a good professor who would discuss important and complex topics but the exams were extremely straight forward and easy. Going to discussion is pretty unnecessary, and he posts his lectures which is nice. Gives a generous curve at the end so if you give even the minimum effort you should be fine. Super funny, caring and nice dude.

Great class, great prof. He's funny, it's an interesting and important topic, and he's cute!

Corbett's lectures are pretty interesting, and his tests are pretty easy. The course material is interesting. Would recommend this class.

Corbett is one of my favorite professors on campus! He is funny, nice, and really cares about his student. Class is pretty easy if you go to class and discussion. Not much homework and exams are very easy.

Dope class. Dope professor.

Great class, great guy. Take this class! Interesting material, engaging prof.

Corbett is one of my all time favorite professors and this class is one of my favorites at UW-Madison. The material is very interesting to me and Professor Grainger presented it in a clear way. Workload is light. Tests and grading are fair. I cannot recommend this class highly enough.

Reviews for tests not helpful. iClickr was not accurate.

Grainger is a young guy who can relate to his students. While the material isn't always interesting, he makes lecture a lot less dull than it could be. There isn't much homework, and the exams aren't too bad if you can apply the concepts. I never used the book. He is my favorite Econ professor to date.

One of the better economics professors I've had as an Econ major. His powerpoints are extremely helpful and not hard to understand if you attend lecture. Going to discussion is a must to solidify lecture material and know what to expect on the exams. Easy A if you have a background in Econ and can do algebra. A fun applicable Econ class. Take it.

Corbett requires students to get the big concepts rather than memorize minutiae details. Lectures are mandatory (iClickers) and mostly helpful. Uses relevant and fun examples. Really useful class for understanding trade-offs in environment policy. Exams are not hard but you need to study. Textbook not necessary. A manageable and fun class.

Best class I've taken at UW. Challenging but very fairly assessed. Corbett is entertaining and very intelligent. The material is thought-provoking and not easy but manageable; don't fall behind. Book isn't necessary, and clicker questions are minimal and he drops some so they're easy points. Discussion is helpful. Highly recommend.

The course met my expectations in terms of content, and he explained the material well enough. Really cool guy. The tests were fair, but sometimes were tricky. I never went to his office hours; you may want to do that. Uses iClickers. Definitely suggest taking 101 and/or 102 before taking this course.

I personally didn't do well in this course due to extenuating circumstances but Corbett was amazingly kind, generous and understanding of my situation. He truly cares about students and is passionate about the subject matter. Exams are more conceptual than math based. Good Econ class for those who want to avoid Calculus.

Corbett is awesome. Even encountering him outside of class he was approchable. He wants his students to do well but I don't think the TAs feel the same way. Either way, with an interest in the environment, and being an econ major already, I did quite well. Def. would take a course with him again (maybe not with the same TA though).

Corbett goes quickly through lecture slides, but will slow down to clarify if you ask in lecture or office hours. Chooses one homework problem at random from the assignment to grade. Go to lecture and you'll be fine on the exams.

Great guy and great professor. Office hours are enormously helpful. Fair tests, if you attend lecture and are active then you will do fine.

Simply put he is a great professor. The class could be a little more challenging.

Great energy, can tell he loves what he is doing. Does not require a lot of reading and lots of powerpoint. I don't really like all the powerpoints (rather see the graphs/work done by hand for example) but the powerpoints makes sense if you are up on the reading.

Great professor. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Would like to see calculus as a prereq.

Great Prof. Tests are hard but fair. Go to class and ask questions. Very interesting and worth taking. Great Teacher.

Great professor. Easy to understand. Would like to see calculus as a prereq so we wouldn't need to spend as much time going through easy math equations.

Easy class for econ majors. Professor is great. Dont buy the book. He uses clickers which I find annoying considering we are paying him to be there not the other way around. Because class is crosslisted with environmental studies the econ material is sometimes weak. I would like to see econ 301 as a prereq so we could get into more complex stuff

This professor is very clear, and very enthusiastic. The material in the class is great, and he asks you questions and gets you involved in lectures to make sure his point got across. Book is near-useless though. Take this class.

Fantastic professor. Very helpful if you ask questions during exams. Very interesting during lectures and very approachable. Great class.
