The material was interesting, but the professor made the class miserable. She's curt, passive-aggressive, and hard to communicate with when you bring concerns to her. Grading is overly harsh with little clarity or flexibility, and she offers no real support. Her attitude overshadows the content and it's definitely not worth the stress.
I love Dr. Hart! She's a great lecturer and person, and I enjoyed how her class was set up to encourage discussion and deeper dives into the material. Her exams are fair and she gives a lot of study material to help you prepare. She's the kind of professor that you can tell genuinely cares about her students and their success--highly recommend!
Chloe Hart is such a good professor, her lectures are engaging and interesting. Lots of readings but most of them are pretty short. Some of the test questions she makes are a bit confusing and worded weirdly. She also utilizes group work in lecture, Overall I think she's a great professor and seems really passionate about teaching which is great!
Prof. Hart is super nice and her class is relatively easy. However, it is heavily graded on 3 tests which will fluctuate your grade heavily. Reading the outside reading is very necessary. There is an extra credit opportunity for attending over 70% of lectures.
SOC 138 with Professor Hart has been my favorite class at UW so far. Professor Hart is incredibly interesting, clearly passionate about both Sociology and Gender and Women's Studies, and truly cares about her students. Absolutely recommend!
Attendance wasn't required, but you do get extra credit for going; they were long and a little boring. Only one paper, easy if you work on it ahead of time. A lot of readings, you only have to do one for the reading reactions. 3 midterms, all easy if you go to discussion section, take picture of the review, and rewrite it 2-3 times. Overall easy A.
Chloe has to be the least compassionate professor I have ever taken a class with. She refused to help with the paper which happens to lack a clear grading rubric. Feedback is superficial and unhelpful. Lectures are boring and redundant. Class with so little intellectuality but harshly graded. Please do yourself a favor and pick another "Easy A"
While professor Hart organizes her lectures well, the one paper we are responsible for is graded relatively harshly.
Hart is a wonderful lecturer. Her lectures are very well planned and pretty interesting (but long). She posted all of them online, so I never went in-person which was nice. Exams are easy but you should study for like an hour at least just to remember the little stuff. Only one paper/presentation. I recommend!
I loved taking SOC 138 with Professor Hart. Lectures aren't note heavy, there's no final exam, and all tests are easy as long as you go to lecture. Exams are only on information that was covered in class and we did helpful reviews before each exam in discussion sections. I found lectures very enjoyable. Discussion attendance is mandatory.
Professor Hart cares about her student's grades just as much as she does about the material and goes out of her way to help you. Very punctual and replies to emails quickly. The material was not hard with some assignments having large impacts on your grade. Very interesting class with a great professor. Discussion classes were not well organized.
Professor Hart was my favorite professor I had this semester. Shes very understanding and is clearly passionate about what she does as it translates into her teaching. What you had to do to succeed in her class is very clear and she wants to help you get there.
If you want an easy class, take this. Exams were common sense. Attendance had some specific criteria about making your grade go down after 2 times so be careful about that. She is a very knowledgable person and provided great insights about the topic that made it interesting. She takes COVID 19 serious and was understanding with sickness.
I loved this class. Professor Hart is very understanding when it comes to sickness and other things. She is a great lecturer and makes her course content easy to understand while connecting it with things in the real world. The content is also very interesting.
This was my favorite prof. this year. As a freshman I had no idea if I was going to like this class but it was extremely easy. Take notes, show up to class, and do the readings. It's not a lot of homework and is an easy class to take for credit if you have other harder classes going on. You take 3 midterms and she takes the highest 2. She gives EC.
Prof. Hart is awesome! She's very accommodating and understanding and her lectures are super clear and easy to follow. The class is relatively light on homework, just a lot of reading at times. The exams aren't too bad and the lectures clearly cover all the material on the exam. Highly recommend!
Professor Hart is amazing! Her lectures make so much sense and the examples she provides for each concept makes me memorize and understand the content so well. While attendance is mandatory, she is very understanding and will send you the lecture recording if you miss class because you're sick. I genuinely look forward to lecture with Professor H.
Professor Hart is so kind. Her lectures are well thought out and are interesting. She's a super good teacher and makes you leave the class feeling like you actually know what you're doing. Would 10/10 recommend this class.
