I loved this class and really felt like I learned a lot about botany. It was clear that she is very passionate about this topic and the lectures were really interesting, if not a little too fast occasionally. The exams were difficult but you get 2 tries with an averaged score and labs were really fun. If you go and take good notes you'll do well

Cath was a great professor, I feel like she knew how to explain the content well.

Cath is very passionate and an amazing woman. However, her exams are the hardest things ever. Expect to memorize every little statistic gone over in lecture even for a second, as you will be expected to recall it on the exams. Her TA is a super tough grader as well. Its easy to do bad if you don't put forth effort. Extra credit is available.

Cath is a very knowledgeable professor and takes the time and effort to make sure her students are successful. I was in her FIG where we created a research project and then travelled to Belize over the summer to do the research. This was one of the most valuable experiences of my life, and I am so thankful to have signed up last minute!

Just the usual professor with an okay amount of work and help resources. You will have to work for you grade and it is very possible to do bad in you are not consistent. The only odd thing was that the professor is exceptionally slow in correcting exams/papers and in handing out grades.

Lots of lectures that can get boring. In class lectures are really fun, but the online lectures can get tedious. Cath is really nice and it's definitely worth going to office hours for her.

Just a fine class. Nothing to rave about and her lectures aren't particularly interesting. The research proposal is a beast.

Very unclear grading criteria. Slow to grade and get grades back. Never sure what you're going into with the tests; unclear with expectations. Many of the topics are interesting, but the tests usually fail to reflect the material covered longest in class, so pay attention to minute details. The research proposal is very important for your grade.

I loved Cath. She is always there for you, and is so interesting. She's passionate and an inspiration. Fair grader, and doesn't expect too much work for the course. Love her.

a passionate and inspiring botanist and a credit to our species. you have only good things to learn from this woman.

Class seemed a little tough for only 2 credits. A lot of memorizing for the tests but I guess thats the only way to learn that kind of information. Pretty clear on expectations and grading.

She taught an awesome online class on tropical ecology that was inspiring.
