I love Professor B so much, but he struggles to explain things in a way that students can easily understand. His exams are written poorly, and for a lot of the questions, I wonder what they are even asking. But he is so kind and gives many opportunities for EC, and his quizzes are an easy way to keep your grade up.
LOL. I love Barrera with all my heart but he's just not that great of a lecturer. I loved his material but he covers A LOT, perhaps too much. What's expected on an exam is not always clear. Super sweet guy though, I'm happy I met him. Beware of Exam 2...
Very nice professor but not great at explaining the material and grading is tough. Exam 2 was very difficult because there was so much material and was barely explained. Assignments are basically just take home quizzes because you are never really taught how to answer the questions on them. Interesting class though.
Way too much for a elementary communications course that fulfills gen ed science requirement. Its pretty absurd asking for in person exams every time. Most important, I didn't have to see those nasty anatomy diagrams after the semester again and they really don't matter much in life. Useless, Worthless, Time Wasting.
Professor Barrera is a super sweet person and overall good professor. His classes are very lecture heavy, but when it comes time for exams, you get a full 2 sides of a sheet of paper. Going to lecture helps with understanding topics. Lots of quizzes for review as well. Overall a very manageable class
I took his class his first time being a prof ever, but he got better and better over the semester! He was always super willing to talk to students outside of class and he's clearly really passionate about the subject matter. His exams were sometimes difficult but never unfair.
I took this class his first semester as a professor, which was evident. However, Professor Barrera worked very hard to take student feedback and make sure the class was taught in a way where we were able to be successful. Some of the course content can be difficult or overwhelming, but you get a whole page of notes for each exam.
Professor is very understanding and actually cares about how you do in the class quite a bit of extra credit and TAs are awesome too. just make note sheets for each chapter and you'll be good to go
Decent lecturer but sometimes hard to understand. Moves way too fast through certain topics (namely anatomy), but his slides have very helpful visuals. He tries his best to engage us and help us enjoy the material, but it was hard because he goes extremely in-depth at randomly and I end up losing sight of what's course material vs. just fun facts.
