Would not ever recommend taking this class. Extreme workload with very little payout given that it is 2 credits and you learn nearly nothing about biology.

Just not a relevant class, you don't learn much about biology

Dr. Theisen knows what she is talking about, but she talks to her students like they are in elementary school. Also, for a 2 credit class, the workload outside was more than my 5 credit class, but all busy work. I did learn a lot about the opportunities available on campus and built strong connections with other students.

Do not take this course please. I was in a FIG for this class and we all collectively hated it. Dr. Theisen is not a mean or harsh professor by any means, the class is just so boring and all busy work. There are easier and more enjoyable 2 credit courses with high A rate that are a better alternative. Horribly structured, didn't learn a thing.

I didn't take this class, I took INTEGSCI 230 with her and it was a waste of my time. The workload was not fitting a 2 credit class, she was SUPER passive-aggressive, she felt like it was her place to comment on poc's experiences and was a harsh grader considering how POINTLESS this class is. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COST!

If your academic advisor suggests taking this class, FIND THE 2 CREDITS SOMEWHERE ELSE. This class had so many unnecessary assignments, requires an absurd amount of time on pointless homework, and has the workload of a 4-5 credit class. This is by far the worst class I had this semester. Dr.Theisen and section instructors are not helpful at all.

My first semester of freshman year was great overall but taking this class was my one regret. Lots of busy work. It's a two hour class with a 10 minute break and it was honestly excruciating. I tried to be open minded but we are treated like young children. Not worth two credits, my three credit classes are more interesting and much less burdensome

This class was way more work than it was worth. And all assignments are due at 5pm on Sundays, so you have to finish them before Sunday otherwise you won't finish. Actual lectures are so rushed and stressful. This TWO credit seminar stressed me out more than any other class (yes, including Chem 103). I highly regret taking it.

Overall, I didn't think this class was horrible. The information was fairly interesting and the assignments (although there were way too many) were simply busy work. If you are actually interested in biology, I would recommend, but please please don't take this if you are looking for an easy 2 credit. Much more like 3-4 credits-- plan accordingly.

This is literally the worst class in the world. It's a two credit class and worse than my 5 credit classes with the workload that is given. There is so much homework given before and after class. The class is pointless and filled with busy work. The assessments for this class for each unit literally take forever to take. Do NOT take this class.

This is the worst class you could ever possibly take. It's a two credit seminar and worse than my 5 credit classes with the workload that is given. Prof Theisen literally treats her students like 5 year olds. The class is pointless and filled with busy work that has nothing to do with what we learned. Absolutely awful, do not take.

Dr. Theisen treats her freshman seminar kids like they're 10 year olds, which is kind of annoying. She seems nice enough other than that. The class is made by like 4 people so each unit is structured differently and that makes it really confusing. There are definitely better seminar classes you could take to fill that requirement.
