I give this a reluctant 5. The content is interesting and the conversations are just so important and riveting. That said, this is much more difficult than a 100-level course. The readings are long and at least my TA was a very harsh grader. I still really recommend the class and an A is possible, but don't take it as a throw-away course.Rate My Professors ↗
While the overall grade of the class ended up being fine, the course material was heavy with a lot of reading that was overcomplicated for a 100 level class. Her feedback is often unclear and grading remained very subjective throughout the semester. Never let us out of class on time. Called me the wrong name replying to an email where my name appeared three times. Lectures are not engaging, otherwise I would have found the class very interesting.Rate My Professors ↗
The reading for 102 is lengthy, dense, and hard to understand. Lectures are boring, with Dr. Norman sometimes spending half the class on the title slide. My TA was amazing, and discussions help a lot. Content can be somewhat interesting when applied to medical cases, but unless you actually care about it, DON'T take this class if you don't have to.Rate My Professors ↗
Dr. Norman was amazing! She was so passionate about what she taught and did an amazing job with lectures! The essays were a bit difficult at times, but the TAs gave amazing feedback and helped you improve! There is so so much reading for the class, even though it is not many credits. She doesn't believe in giving 100s. There are not many assignments at all, so it is very hard to raise your grade. In discussions, there are participation grades each week but she never gives a 10.Rate My Professors ↗
