I was excited for J345 with Wells but it was SO disappointing. He is SOOOOO bad with details and I honestly don't think he read the syllabus for the class. He doesn't give study guides for exams which sucks. Do not take 345 with him, I was very disappointed. The only saving grace was that my group for the campaign was awesome.Rate My Professors ↗
Super easy course but not curved at all. The midterms were easy and take about 10 minutes. The discussion sections were great and super interesting. The grading wasn't super clear, the discussion activities specifically got very random grades. The lectures are good but its unnecessary to go to all the lectures. Honestly J201 compelled me to apply to the Journalism school for a second major. The class is interesting, the expectations are clear, and the assignments aren't too difficult. That being said, there is a lot of writing in this course.Rate My Professors ↗
Interesting and relevant lectures with beneficial readings. There were lots of small assignments (essays, speeches, readings), but none of it was especially difficult. Probably my favorite class I took this year, and I'd definitely recommend Wells as a professor.Rate My Professors ↗
Chris is a fine lecturer, it's pretty easy to skip class and just learn it for the exams. Where you'll get screwed is your TA. The class isn't curved and it isn't adjusted so that all the TAs have the same average, since they do all the grading. Assignments are only worth up to 10 points so if you lose half a point on each it really ads up.Rate My Professors ↗
Loved his class. Easy A to be honest; material is not hard at all to understand, he's very clear on what he wants you to know, exams are straight forward and a breeze and not a lot of assignments at all.
