Sullivan was a good lecturer and the exams mainly focused on lecture content. There are only 3 exams and some homework that are graded but you will be prepared if you go to class and do the practice sets and example test. Overall he is very accommodating, understanding, and easy to talk to.
Take econ 101. This class is mostly microeconomics in regards to the content you had to learn except you do not get microeconomics credit. If you have to learn micro, might as well get the credit for it. Overall nice guy and good at explaining, but no textbook and lecture heavy. If you lose attention for a second, you're lost.
He breaks his content down into easy to understand examples even referencing pop culture. You can easily see his care in the subject that he teaches and he takes time before each exam to answer questions. His weekly problem sets are in an almost identical format to the exams and are very straightforward.
Chris is a fantastic professor. His lectures are filled with interesting information. The homework assignments are straightforward as long as you attend lectures, and the exams are structured similarly to them. He is also super accommodating, so be sure to reach out if you need help.
Professor Sullivan is really good! His lectures are concise and comprehensive. He uses a lot of examples to make sure you really get the content. He also connects his lectures to shows like the 'Simpsons' to make things even more interesting. I got covid during finals, and he gave me an option to take an online exam over zoom (super understanding)
Lectures are really interesting. You can see how passionate the professor is about the subject. He has a very clear and concise teaching style. Definitely would recommend this course. He is available during office hours and always happy to help. Most exam questions are similar to lecture and past exam problems.
Chris was a good teacher and gave lots of good examples to explain the topics covered in the curriculum. He involved us a lot in his lectures and made them almost fun to go to. I would take this class again for more credit if I could.
Prof. Sullivan was really good! Based on other people's reviews, I'm guessing that the online format kind-of hurt my overall impression on his lectures. Online, his lectures seemed slow and sometimes really drawn out. Yet I loved his class! Very light on work, easy final project, and fun classmates! (Some people also have crushes on him, so yeah!)
Christopher is one of the best professors I've had by far! He is very approachable and knowledgable. You can tell he is really passionate about economics. Exams are straightforward. Attend lectures and you will get an A. TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!!
ECON100 is a very relaxed class. The beginning is a bit boring, but the second half was very interesting. I would highly recommend to someone interested in ECON, but NOT as a major--if so take 101. I would also recommend making use of his office hours. He is very easy to talk to, and can give good outsider insight on topics being covered in class.
This professor made his lecture material very clear and used funny examples to express what he wanted you to understand. Always available for questions and answered questions very thoroughly. Fantastic professor. 10/10 would take him again.
This was such a thought provoking class. He is really such a smart guy and an amazing professor. He uses media like the Simpsons to explain topics and makes class very interesting. I learned a lot in this class and will probably look for more classes with this prof. He answers all questions thoroughly and is very clear with exam materials.
Econ 100 is usually a course that most people take only for the credits, but classes with Sullivan are the most fun out of all the lectures you'll ever have. He explains each concept really well & takes examples from famous TV shows (he loves The Simpsons, and Arrested Development). He's approachable & passionate about Econ. 10/10 would recommend.
The class is structured a bit differently compare to a typical UW class. There isn't a textbook, but there are online materials like articles, podcasts, and parts of textbooks that if used can aid in your understanding of the material. The lectures are fairly important to attend to do well. If you took AP MICRO this course is an easy A.
An awesome professor, gave interesting and engaging lectures and cared about your situation if you approached him. Made early level economics accessible and I would definitely take a class with him again.
He is a great and understanding professor! Would definitely like to have another class with him.
