His lectures are garbage. Absolute nonsense. At first, it was funny, but it got old fast when you had to write an essay on the lecture content. You had to write 4 papers. There were 5 to write but you got to skip one. I skipped my last paper so I could quit going to lecture a month early. This was a smart move. The papers are graded by your TA.Rate My Professors ↗

Genuinely the worst TA I've had. Super awkward and boring. Just reads from the slides and paces. Avoid if you can!!Rate My Professors ↗

I doubt that a professor could be worse than Professor McMahon. For a course that was intended to be "introductory" (as the syllabus said), this class was anything but. Not only were the required readings dense and way above my head, the only graded assignments were papers based on these exact readings. Just don't.Rate My Professors ↗

He would read directly off slides about really dense religious material- not engaging content either. The pre lecture readings were VERY long and difficult. Whole class is based on 4 essays + participation and an A is 94%. Grading was overly harsh and many students struggled heavily to succeed in this class in multiple aspects for a 102 level.Rate My Professors ↗

Lectures weren't fun or interesting to me. He just reads off of slides to explain the assigned readings, which are not easily digestible. The class was only graded out of 80 points which come from 4 papers and attendance, so it's hard to get a good grade, in my opinion. The premise of the class seemed super interesting but wasn't well executed.Rate My Professors ↗

This class was severely boring. The Prof is awkward and is always out of breath when lecturing, which makes listening to them painful. If you're incredibly interested in religion, maybe you would like it, but probably not. The readings are frequent, dense, and hard to decipher, and also very long. Slow readers need not take this course.Rate My Professors ↗
