I really didn't like Pfleger & I would not recommend at all. It seemed like since we were online, he got away with doing the absolute bare minimum. Lectures and homework were ridiculous and unhelpful. He didn't return the first midterm until after the second midterm, he was consistently rude during our interactions and communication was deplorable.
Pfleger is a nice professor who does a great job of sparking interest in Chem-E. He uses powerpoints to describe concepts and demonstrate them through an example. The homework for this class is INTENSE and time-consuming but you learn a lot from it, and you benefit from going back through lecture examples to make sure you understand everything.
Prof. Pfleger seems to be more interested in his research than teaching. Lectures are almost always too long, uninspired, and don't teach much of anything. However, he is a pretty funny guy if you can stay awake to catch his jokes.
Brian Pfleger is the single greatest professor I've had at Madison. Very relatable guy and very fun to be in class with.
He's a great professor, explains everything thoroughly, very patient, loves what he teaches. I recommend him for anyone.
He's interested in teaching, always explains what's not obvious, homework is challenging but very useful for the exam.
Great Professor, he really tries hard to make thermodynamics applicable to real world scenarios. The class itself definitely was dry at times, but he did his best to keep it interesting. Exams were always way too long however, and I never had time to finish them.
First half of the class was very interesting, but after the first midterm it got boring. He tried to make it entertaining and was good at explaining very dry material. Exams were fair, very long, but definitely based on the homework and lectures. Do the homework and understand it, go to office hours, they'll help a lot.
Pretty good teacher overall. Two professors taught this class and I definitely preferred him over the other one. He's likes to make some jokes every now and then in lecture.
Class is difficult, he will always answer a question with a question. Be prepared to know your stuff if you ever get called on (which you will). Homework is tough but the tests reflect exactly what he's taught. Funny and entertaining, makes lecture tolerable.
